A giant set of teeth

Thursday: I thought I'd see if I couldn't spend money, as I had every other day of the week and would be on Friday as well. My original plan was to read a book I have due on the 1st but won't be able to renew, but I got lost in my computer and YouTube.
I got a few things ready to send out.
Fairy tag:
I got these in a swap for a mythical flip book.
Owl card:
I'm not great at making cards, but I keep signing up for card swaps to practice.
Button card:
I couldn't find my bag of buttons and raided the wooden buttons I got a few weeks ago.
Sticker sheets:
I totally felt bad and threw a third sheet in as well.
I got a unicorn tag in the mail:
It's cute.
Finished my day by texting with a guy I met on OKCupid. I don't think we're gonna go very far. I had messaged him earlier in the week on okcupid about my busy next week, including my birthday and he didn't say anything about my birthday when I mentioned it (most people do), while we were texting he said he likes looking at books, not reading them, but looking at them and that he hadn't been to the library since we remodeled (4 years ago). He also asked for more pictures, I've been taking pictures of my outfits lately so, I sent those and he sends me one back of him probably on his bed without a shirt. Not only did I not ask for a picture, put some damn clothes on.
Friday: woke up early and made a few belated birthday cards:
 And another one:
I was supposed to make them on Thursday, but didn't get to it.
Also, this guy I've been texting with decided to send me a good morning text bright and early. That's kinda weird to me for someone who I'm just chatting with. If we were dating, it'd be different.
He texts later, in the middle of the day, hi and then at the end of the day asks if he's bothering me. I answer I'm tired after a long day, his response, how was your day. I have a feeling he doesn't read my messages very well. I'm kind of annoyed at people right now anyway.
Anyways, it was a pretty good day. My aunt texts, saying they're going to be a bit later than expected.
We get started about 11AM. First stop was this place with a really cool garden, I didn't find anything to buy, but we all decided my mother would enjoy it. As we were on our way to this place one of my aunts' was saying it seems we women (of my family) seem to complain about things a lot, and I realized later, maybe that's what we did, as I was complaining to myself about the day.
First stop was a place with a cool garden. Found some interesting stuff there:
 And this:
 Some pictures of the pond:
 And:
 I also found a toad:
Here he is from a different angle:
 And a cute planter:
I didn't find anything to buy at that place.
Second stop was a place we'd been before, it's ok, not very big. Found this cool coaster:
 And picked up some snowflakes:
Loved the glass one at the top. There was a bunch of these plasticy snowflakes in bags, but only one had this cool glass snowflake, so I bought it for $3.
Next up was lunch, we went to a buffet, that was ok. I thought it was a Golden Corral, but it wasn't just a buffet. It was ok for the price, and I was good and had water for lunch.
Third place was more of a flowery place. I picked up this:
The pot was $3, the succulent was $4.50. I picked it up for a friend whose brother just passed away. That's what you do when people have deaths in the family? Right? You give them a plant. I just have to keep it alive until Tuesday. I'm not that great with plants.
Next up was a market, where I broke down and bought a can of Mountain Dew, it was just so good, it was a buck.
Next up we went to an antique store with a flea market in front.
I found these:
 And this cool thing:
I wish I had wall space for it.
And here's what I purchased:
Yes, I got the teeth, they were just cool and neat. A random correspondence card and a bag of little green men. I spent about $20 there.
That was our last stop, we headed back home to have supper with my parents. That's one of the things I hate when we get a late start and then an early stop time. There were a couple more places in this city that we could have easily hit as they were just around the corner.
I had ice cream and cheeseballs for supper, and then headed home because I was tired.
Found some happy mail in the mailbox.
First flip:
 Second flip:
 All the goodies:
It's pretty cute.
I was a member of a facebook group where you basically post weird things you find when you're out and about, so I had posted my teeth purchase today. You have to wait for an admin to approve your post, when I was on not so long ago, my post was deleted and not approved, and I looked at the rules, there's nothing I broke, so I decided I didn't need another group to waste my time online, I left. I'm tired of people. I'll probably ignore this guy for the next few days when I'm busy, which I already told him I was. I'm kinda done with people. Lucky for me I get to open in the morning, hopefully I'll have one of those patrons that brightens my day

Pistachio cheesecake

Tuesday: I put together a few things to mail out.
Green happy mail:
 Letter M
I bought this for a monkey tag, but ended up sending something else.
Aquarium tag:
I walked to the mall (about 2 miles), so I could go looking for a comfy skirt. I had this great maxi a few years ago, it was comfy and matched everything (it was navy/brown tie dye), and then I stepped on it one day and it ripped.
Stopped at Walmart to pick up some tape and see if they had any cute dresses. Every time I wear a dress to work everyone compliments it, so I thought I'd wear a few more.
double stick tape ($6 each), dress ($9), shirt ($3), Trolls blind bag ($3), chocolate covered fruit ($4), minions plates ($0.25), minions napkins ($0.25), green button ($0.50), Ugly Dolls blind bag ($3), minions happy birthday sign ($0.50), My Little Pony blind bag ($3), Jif cookies and cream hazelnut spread ($2), Dove chocolate ($2), and Oreos Latte thins ($3).
As you can see, I found a dress and a shirt, picked up some double stick tape. I was so excited last time I went to Walmart I didn't pick up any tape and then of course I was getting short on it. I just need to remember to pick up a pack every time I go to Walmart, I could use a lifetime supply of it. Picked up a few blind bags, I wanted to pick up two of the Ugly Dolls, but compromised and got one each of the Ugly Dolls, the Trolls and the My Little Pony ones. There was another cool one, but it was $4, I'm trying to stay under $3. I found the Minion plates, napkins and sign in the clearance aisle and they turned out to be cheaper than they were marked. I picked up the Dove chocolate, cause it sounded interesting. It's called Blonde chocolate, it says a mix of white and milk chocolate with caramel. And I had to buy the latte Oreos, just to try them out, they'll probably be left at the library. Also the Jif was in the clearance section, that might be left at the library as well.
Went to JC Penney looking for a skirt, found some cute dresses instead:
 And this one:
They were both wicked cute, but I'm not spending $50 on a dress, plus they are more dressy than I need.
I did find this guy, though:
It was only $3.50, so I totally bought it.
At that point I was ready to head home, but had just missed the bus, so wandered down to TJ Maxx, I couldn't find anything to buy, but how cool is this giant boot?
It's a planter and was $12, I did not buy it.
When I tried on my shirt, it fit:
As well as the shirts I bought last week:
This would look much nicer with a black skirt or pants.
This one is a bit short:
but it's a petite, so that's to be expected.
And the dress:
I needed the longer work mirror.
I rarely try things on at stores. I didn't today because I was covered in sweat when I was shopping and that's just gross, especially if it doesn't fit. Usually I'm shopping from Goodwill or Salvation Army or some other thrift store, so I figure, if it doesn't fit I didn't spend a ton of money and it will just get donated back. It's amazing to have two different clothes shopping days and to have everything fit.
I realize now looking back at the picture of the dress, it totally shows my stomach. I had my shapewear on the bottom and my more pronounced bra on top, it was rather uncomfortable by the end of the day. Also, I'm not sure you can really tell the difference with the bra.
I ended up with 16,000 steps and almost 7.5 miles by the time I went to bed, I was exhausted by the time I got to bed, but of course I didn't sleep well.
I found a pile of mail when I got home:
A birthday surprise.
I love how she wrote on it not to open until my birthday.
My June Secret Sister:
It's the first time I've liked everything in the package.
I think I've decided to no longer do swaps in my mail groups. The secret sisters are fun, but in one of my mail groups they took away the favorites (again), and we're supposed to list favorites upon sign up. It just feels like there's more and more rules for these swaps in my groups, and I know it's because some people just kinda suck and ruin it for everyone, but it's tiring.
I don't always get stuff I want in the tags or swaps, and with swaps you have to commit more money wise, so I think I'll just do swaps in my art groups and do tags in my mail groups. Maybe I'll save some money.
Letter M:
I'm not entirely sure why I did the alphabet tag, I told myself after finishing the last alphabet that I wasn't going to partake in the next one because it seemed I got more that I didn't like than I did. I keep running into that with certain tags, like the initials and the favorite color and telling myself to not do it. But, then I want mail and you can't have it both ways.
Anywho, these are wicked strong, I left them at work.
Smile Time tag:
Basically a happy mail tag, it's ok. I like the cactus tag and the large flower doily thing.
Wednesday: was more weird than normal at the library. Thought we had someone that had a no trespass come in (could have been his doppelganger), we had a box of mouse puppets come in (the mail was missorted), my interlibrary loan volunteers opened it and couldn't figure out what it was for, it was actually for the youth department, plus it's summer, which is always more busy.
Bought a whole bunch of baking stuff to make this:
a pistachio cheese cake for my birthday. I haven't made cheesecake in awhile and forgot how much cream cheese was in it. I also think I need to buy another pie shell. The recipe had me making the pie crust and using a springform pan, but that's a bit too much work, so I was just going to use a pie shell I already have. But, if you look at that picture, there's about 2-3 inches of height in that thing, my pie shell is no that tall, I feel I'll have enough to fill another pie shell. I know I did last time I made a cheesecake. I'll pick up the other pie shell on Saturday after work, and if it ends up that I have enough for two, I'll probably take one to work on Tuesday.
Mail was late again, got some die cuts:
Due to doing a card sketch in a group. I may just do the card sketches to get the die cuts.

Frosting sandwiches

Thursday: I decided to do my mailing and grocery store errands on Thursday so I could get out of the house and not sit on the couch all day.
When I got back from doing those, my mail was waiting for me.
Summer Solstice Smiles:
 Cute postcard.
Wish of something unicorn and for sticker flakes:
 Love the selection.
Wish of pocket letter sleeves:
I also received 2 birthday surprises. And then I sat on my butt the rest of the day.
Friday: Had to close at the library. Had a quick chat with a friend I hadn't seen since Christmas. When I went on break, there was a bag of bread and a tub of cake frosting, so I made some cake frosting sandwiches.
The mail of course was not there when I left for work (about 1pm), though on Thursday it was there before noon. I wish my mail could be a little bit more consistent.
Found some mail when I got home. Summer Solstice smiles:
 Favorites tag:
 This is gorgeous.
random tag swap:
 Cactus tag:
I like that it's different, but I will probably never use the silicone tray.
Orange happy mail:
Saturday: I was going to try and go to a few garage sales, but nothing was close and then it was raining when I woke up, so I gave up. I wasted the day on the couch watching YouTube. The more I play with my new phone, the more I like it. I like the face recognition unlock function, I've also found I love watching videos on it and it doesn't seem to drain the battery at all.
Sunday: I did laundry and read a book, American Summer
Monday: I wore a new dress to work:
I've really been enjoying wearing dresses to work, people keep saying how cute they look on me, too. I also wore my new owl necklace that I got on Friday.
I went shopping on my way home from work even though I knew I had two fun packages waiting for me at home.
First stop was the Asian food store:
I shouldn't have gone in, but I wanted to see if they had anything new and interesting. I was also looking for this really good milk tea drink I got at a different Asian food store last week. I totally found it,
Milk flavor cake ($6), Kuai Kuai Corn Snack Strawberry ($2), Potato Rice Chips ($3), 3 Thai Milk Teas ($1 each), Herbal Tea ($1), Green Tea Kit Kat ($7). I wish the Kit Kats weren't so expensive, this one said it was a green tea powder kit kat, it looked darker on the package than the other green tea Kit Kats. I misheard the cashier and thought she said $30 when I checked out and then saw when I got home, I noticed it was only about $20.
I walked right by Hobby Lobby, I didn't feel like wandering around the Salvation Army (even though I wanted to go, I was tired and hungry), and bypassed JoAnn's Fabrics. I was very happy with my willpower.
Next up was HyVee:
Reeses ($1.50), Reese's snack mix ($3), Twizzlers filled bites ($4), Zoet dark chocolate with pear ($2), sandwich ($4), Oreo pistachio thins ($3) and two donuts ($3)
I had planned to eat lunch at their buffet, but they were remodeling and it just didn't feel inviting. I did stop and enjoy my donut on the way home.
And onto the fun mail.
A birthday surprise:
A wish of something mason jar:
I'm a little perturbed on this one, she originally said it was mailed on 5/31 and then later mailed it last week.
I also received some more Summer Solstice Smiles:
 Cute card.
Love this card:
And one with cute llama stickers:
 a wish of something unicorn:
A red, white and blue swap:
I was telling the hostess of the swap, I wish people could include notes, this one didn't have one. Is it really that hard to include a tiny little note with your name, the swap name and the group name. It's very frustrating.
And a box of sunshine:
My partner sent a ton of stuff:
 And one more photo:
I felt kinda bad for her because we were going to send flat rate mailers, but she had some issue on her end and ended up spending more than I expected.
This is the reason I'm always hungry and/or tired. I get home, and see my mail, then I have to open it, take pictures and record it all in my mail journal. It was about 3:30 before I got to lunch.
