shopping

Tuesday: Had to be at the bookstore at 9, I don't recall it being busy. Stopped at the post office on the way home because I had run out of stamps and didn't feel like paying for single letters. Found some mail when I got home.
SMS Harry Potter:
I have a swap I have to make for one of my groups, my plan was to alter a 'book' box with a Harry Potter Ravenclaw theme. I was hoping to get a Harry Potter book to cover the outside of the box, use some bronze and navy accents and either an eagle or a Ravenclaw crest on the front. So, I've been asking for Harry Potter ephemera in my groups, but haven't got many responses. This was for a SMS Saturday, we kinda broke the rules for a bit, it's only supposed to be adjectives to describe what we wanted. This person wrote down my SMS Harry Potter and got it ready to go out before my comment was delete. I'm very grateful she did, I can still use these items if I just have to go with a Harry Potter theme.
wish for sticker flakes:
Not happy with these, I've never quite figured out why everyone really likes the poop emoji. I kinda like the rainbow ones, but only cause they don't look like poop.
Another wish for sticker flakes:
 These are pretty cute.
And some more sticker flakes.
It was like the day of sticker flakes. The kraft mini envelopes are pretty cute, too.
I had a random swap to send out:
The person I was sending to liked reusable tote bags, elephants, cute socks, sweet things, mint gum, kawaii things, and mermaids.
Also had to send a surprise out to someone:
She likes butterflies, and I just thought the card was cute.
something unicorn:
I was so proud of having my stuff all ready to send out on Wednesday.
Wednesday: I had decided Wednesdays were the day to do my errands and I wasn't going to be working at the bookstore. I realized I was out of almost everything. I only had two more days at the bookstore, so only needed minimal supplies for my lunch. I was out of cheese, had meat for one more day and was out of bread. I couldn't find small quantities of cheese or bread, but bought some more anyway.
This is my pile of books I have checked out from the library:
I feel it's time to read them instead of watching movies all the time. No mail on Wednesday.
I've been opening blind bags to help with my long days:
the colorful thing on the left is a pikmi pop, a chocolate chip scented dog, a smooshy mooshy, a lost cat, and a beaker thing.
The moose when you squeeze him:
He's my current favorite stress relieving toy.
The smooshy mooshy when you squeeze it:
Also, had some flipeze trolls, they kinda transform. Here they are all flipped up:
And then you flip their tops and bottoms and you get this:
I really like them this way, I love the hair.
Thursday: I felt more energize from Wednesday, but was still rather tired of not being busy. We had this one guy try to return a backpack but it wasn't on the receipt he had. He kept insisting that he bought it that day. It was a weird interaction.
I was planning on going shopping on my way home, but I was tired and didn't feel like walking to the store from the bus stop and then walking home. Exhaustion won out. Found a couple pieces of mail when I got home.
Harry Potter ephemera:
Not quite sure I can use this in my project.
ATC:
Very cute, a bit too big in dimensions for an ATC.
Friday: was my last day, I was a bit too excited. They had me down as cashiering, but the returns line got kinda long a few times, so I went back over there to help. They only had two registers, but a lot of the returns were online, and we use a separate computer for that. I screwed up and had to write a note as to why there would be extra money in the register.
Went to Texas Roadhouse with a friend for a celebration of survival dinner. We had an appetizer and then I was too tired to eat, so I had lunch ready for Saturday.
Found some minions when I got home:
I realize I only wished for something minion, but I'm tired of minion stickers. i should just stop doing wishes.
Saturday: I was originally supposed to open at the library, but I switched shifts so I could relax a bit before going in. I ended up going to Hobby Lobby. I had given myself free rein because I knew it would be the last time I'd be at Hobby Lobby for the rest of the year. Christmas was on sale for 40% off, so I picked up a few things I really wanted:
Angel wings ($2.39), gemstones ($0.99), pens ($1.24), bags ($0.99), Christmas llamas and cacti stickers ($1.49), Christmas cat stickers ($1.19), glitter bug kit ($2.39)
I love angel wings, actually I like angels that don't look too religious. I picked up these gemstones because they look kinda bronze. Thought I could send these pens and bags in swaps. I couldn't pass up Christmas llamas, cacti and cat stickers, they were too cute. Every year I try to pick up some kit that's not specifically Christmas.
monster ornament ($1.79), Cake pop cuties ($1.99), 2 keychains (60 cents each), Christmas jar ornament ($2.99), snowman ornament ($2.99), a couple hair accessories ($1.24 and 99 cents respectively), wooden Christmas pieces ($2.39)
I totally picked up the monster for me. Figured I could use the keychains and other ornaments for swaps. I picked up the hair accessories to use the flowers from.
Gnome ornament ($1.79), gnome house ornament ($2.99) gemstones ($2.99), cup ornament ($1.79), wooden piece (99 cents), mini bottle brush trees ($2.39) Picked up the gnome, gnome house, and cup ornaments as well as the mini trees for swaps. The gemstones and the wooden piece are for my craft.
Spent about $42, everything was either on sale or clearance.
I went down to JoAnn's to see if they had anything afterwards.
Didn't find much, I always find their prices a bit high.
cards ($1.97), stickers ($1.24), monster stickers ($2.49). Picked it all up for me. I can always use the thank you cards. The stickers had sloths and unicorns dressed up for Halloween.
The monster stickers:
These were originally $4.99, the orange ones had horns on top, but some of them didn't have both horns and I thought they looked cuter without them. Also, one of the purple ones was missing a foot. I'd think for $5 you could try a bit harder.
After getting home I kinda felt like I should have just stayed home and relaxed, after eating lunch I was a bit more energized. The library was kinda slow, it was the first football game of the season, figured people were there.
Found some mail when I got home.
Happy mail:
I just feel eh about it.
Floral happy mail:
 Also not that exciting.
And an ATC:
I really like this one.
I wasn't planning on having pop, but I was so exhausted at work, I needed something. I'm so close to the end. I feel I will just sit at home and read on Monday.

Krispy Kreme pins

Saturday: was long, I was at the bookstore all day, it wasn't that busy. Found some happy mail when I got home.
Blue/yellow pocket letter:
I like that she chose emojis to use.
The goodies:
As you can see, most items were too big to fit in the pocket letter. Also, she didn't include a letter, so it wasn't really a pocket lett.
Red crafting items:
They're still ok, and she did include the money I paid.
Sunday: I was at the bookstore from 10-6. Again, very slow, I had a few times where I was fighting to stay awake. I was standing the whole time.
When I got home, I got a bunch of stuff ready to mail out while I did my laundry.
Birthday mail:
Just some random stuff from other swaps/tags. Die cut from the red crafting items, memo sheets from pocket letter, postcard from unicorn tag, stickers from my secret sister swap and some washi I bought at a garage sale.
 Send Me Something Wearable:
This is from a send me something fuzzy
 Kawaii:
I bought this at Target years ago.
Send Me Something Smelly, sticker edition.
I had just gotten some packs of these scratch and sniff stickers in a swap.
Igrab of sticky notes:
These were from a fruit tag.
Sticker flakes:
Not entirely sure what this is from as no one ever claimed they sent it, but it was a duplicate of some I already had.
Flower happy mail:
the tissue flowers are from a garage sale, flowers at top from a swap, the tissue flower is from a SMS unique, the felt flowers and flower book from a fill a box swap, the memo sheets from the pocket letter and the bags from JoAnns
ATC:
It's very flat, just a bunch of stickers.
Finally finished my laundry about 9 and hopped in the shower, got to bed rather late.
Monday: slept in until 8:30, didn't get dressed until I had to go in to work, had one of my frozen dinners for lunch.
Put a few more things together to mail out.
Wish for a cute air freshener:
I just received this in my unicorn happy mail.
trim swap:
we were to send 6 different trims that were 18" long, I have a ton of trim, so I gave her 6 short ones, and two very long ones.
T card:
All I could think of was tag.
I grabbed my mail before I ate my lunch and then was debating whether I should open them or wait until after work, I totally opened them before I left.
Send Me Something unique:
They are Krispy Kreme enamel pins. A coffee cup, box of donuts, truck and hat. They're pretty cool. Very different.
Scavenger hunt swap:
oversized: table cloth, Squishy: makeup sponges, Salty: peanuts, Useful: toothbrush, Rectangular: M&Ms.
I feel she didn't try very hard, it feels like she just went to the dollar tree and got unexciting things. I feel you could do much better. Think I'll try that challenge next time I'm there.
Back to school swap:
from the same person as above, still looks like she bought things from the dollar store. I want to know why she couldn't buy a notebook with decoration on it, why would you include pencil sharpeners but no pencils (maybe she should have kept them, because I sent her a bunch of pencils). I do like the erasers (there's a narwhal in there) and the pens.
So, I'm back to no swaps. Wouldn't be a bad thing, I might save some money.
I had originally figured I'd be at the library until 1:15 and then be at the bookstore 2-8, my boss at the library approved my vacation time for the 26th and 27th so I don't have to have two more 11 hour days. the bookstore was busy when I got in, but after about 6 (normal closing time) it tapered off a bunch, and then we had another fire alarm go off (had one on Thursday) about 6:30 and we got back in about 6:45, we were pretty dead the rest of the night.
I had a person try to "return" a book they bought on Amazon. The ISBN number matched her online order, but the way it was packaged, I knew it wasn't a bookstore book, maybe if she had taken it out of the mailing packaging and just tried to return the book, it would have worked. She told me she wasn't sure if she could return it. It's not a return if you bought it somewhere else. Also had a guy get upset that he couldn't return a backpack he purchased on a credit card and didn't have the receipt. And another get upset that he opened a bundle (loose leaf book wrapped in plastic and a code) and we couldn't return it, we don't sell them open like that. He was pissed, said because he had opened the package he was out $200, pretty much, you should listen to what the cashier tells you when you're purchasing stuff.
Had a guy on Sunday bring in a random cord asking if we could return it. Not without packaging, dude. He said nowhere on the website did it say it had to be in packaging to be returned, it does actually, says the original packaging. Had another guy return an umbrella because it didn't rain today. Don't worry it will rain again.
Thirty three more working hours and 6 more days until I get a day off. I'm not to worried about the days I'm at the library, I am a bit tired of getting up and going to the bookstore every day, If it was busier it wouldn't be so bad.

Trolls

Sunday: finished putting together a few things to mail out.
Wish for Project Life cards:
 wish for woodland friends:
 wish for used postage:
I bought a bunch of blind bags, so I had one to open every night, it's  like a little bonus when I get done with the day.
What I've opened so far:
Build a Bear, Squishy Mooshy, Troll, Littlest Pet shop, Smooshy Mooshy and a Lost cats.
Monday: was pretty normal, chose to wear my khaki skort with nude tights, so I didn't have to change everything between jobs. Thought I'd wear my brown boots to the library, switch to the Mary Jane's I have there and then switch back to the boots for the book store. Felt the boots rubbing on the walk to the library, chose to wear the Mary Jane's the bookstore. Had about 15 minutes to eat my lunch when I made it to ISU. Closed about 6, took the bus back to the library to switch out shoes so I didn't have to remember to take the Mary Jane's back and so I didn't have to carry the brown boots home Tuesday night. I could tell they were rubbing again, so I hurried home, changed clothes and walked back to the grocery store. Picked up cereal and something sweet for a tag.
Here's the Send Me Something sweet:
I originally picked up the hot chocolate and then saw the sandwich cookies and just decided to send both.
I was complaining about the Minion tag in my other group to a moderator of a different group and she said she'd make a minion tag for me. Looks like it just might be me and another person, but we'll see.
Chose to send a bag I had gotten for birthday mail. I love it, but I have so many bags.
And finally got to my mail.
Secret Sister package:
I like a few things, but dislike more than I like. I think I'm back to not doing swaps, at least not this giant one. I like the minion gummy snacks, the minion Christmas Ornament, the frog suncatcher, the unicorn canvas (though not the fact that I have to color the two), the Trolls sticky note set, the markers and the calendar.
I went back and looked at what I listed as favorites. I'm not sure how any of it translated into planner stuff. There are some cute stickers on the two large sets of stickers, I haven't opened the small one as I can't without ruining the package. Not exactly sure what the teal container is at the top, they had it filled with some of the smaller items, but it's got a mirror in it, so make-up related? There's a package of mermaid themed nail files, suppose I could use them for a mermaid tag, and some face masks. Also this is the third time I've gotten that wooden owl. And there's a set of journals.
Here's the Trolls sticky notes:
 Dollar store tag:
I could use this as a flat item.
ATC:
I thought this was rather cute.
Sticker swap:
I love the Ugly Dolls and the Lost Kitties and the blue and pink ones at the bottom, they are kinda scented. I hate how there's always kids stuff in these, I don't like the whatever is up at the top.
Tuesday: was a long day, 11 hours, I may have taken a quick nap on my break at the library.
Wednesday: was a nice relief I only worked one job, ran my errands and got home about 2ish. I ended up spending less at the post office and the grocery store than I thought I would, that was nice. Opened up this guy:
It's supposed to look like a balloon animal and is squishy like a balloon animal. I'd totally buy this one again, loved it.
I received a kawaii tag:
Though, it's not very kawaii to me. It's just stationery with bears on it, not sure what's kawaii about that. Also received a postage due in my mailbox, it was for the red crafting items swap, I sent a picture of it to the person sending to me, and she was upset, she said she'd pay me back the money, so I believed her and paid the postage.
Thursday: wasn't as long because I was more energized from the day before, plus it was only an 8 hour day and one job. I had plans to go to a church sale with a friend on Friday, so I texted her to see if we were still good and she says I have other plans that I forgot about. I'm getting tired of planning things with her and then having her cancel at the last minute. I have one more tentative plan with her later in September and then I'm quitting. I have to go back to just depending on myself, no one else ever seems to follow through.
I found a unicorn happy mail tag:
I love that she found an air freshener and a koozie with unicorns on them. I won't use those items, but I love the creativity and different items she found.
I opened this guy:
He also sings, kinda reminds me of Gizmo.
Friday: Saw this on my way in to work:
Worked 3 hours at the bookstore, so no break and then headed over to the library. I was good until about 2 hours into my shift at the library and then I just hit a wall and was wicked tired. Headed off to that church sale, I was going with or without my friend.
How beautiful is this decorated hat box I found?
I didn't have any place for it, so left it for someone else.
What I did buy:
All these guys were 25 cents each. I love the bear with his lederhosen, not sure what the pink fluffy thing is and how do you pass up a hamster? The other thing is a monkey in a spacesuit.
This was a bag of misc for $1.50. It's a nice selection. I won't be using the flower buds.
These were in a box for $1.50. there were a couple more beads, but I bought it for these.
These were all in a bag for 50 cents, thought they'd work for filler if I had a box for a swap.
These were together in a bag for $1. It's just a bunch of tags.
These were in a bag for $1.50, not sure they were worth that, but they are wicked cute.
These were in a bag for 25 cents.
I spent a total of $7.50 There were also a bunch of bags of stickers for $3, but I don't need more stickers, it seems I don't use the ones I have. I also found a lot of cute tea cups, but again, no place to put them. I found some happy mail when I got home.
Some wishes:
for international snacks, something minion. I'm tired of getting this minion washi tape, it's the third roll.
And the red crafting items:
It wasn't thinner than 1/4" because of that sparkly wooden thing and the buttons in it. Obviously a parcel. The person sending to me said she repacked and sent another package with the money I had to spend to get the parcel, so more is coming soon, I hope.
