Swing, swing from the chariot
I was reading the Daily today, and they keep having articles about Facebook (online community, they keep sticking it with Myspace), and today they said people are getting fired because of things they say about their job. I have a tendency not to post about my jobs, unless it's something really interesting, exciting, like the Journey/Def Leppard concert. I just feel that the internet is not the place to complain about my job (go figure), I have friends I can complain to for that (lucky them). And it seems I'm right, yes I know that basically anyone can find anything on the internet, so if you complain outright about your job, and someone that works with, or is your boss reads its, you're kinda SOL.
I suppose y'all wanna know about exciting things that have happened since the 17th, well I hate to disappoint you, but you're not gonna get much. I've been swamped with school stuff, and I'm still behind (such as life, or at least mine). Oh, well, I deal, and nudge myself on, I gotta do it, no use complaining, it ain't gonna solve anything.
I'm quite amused (and annoyed) with some of the people on campus. You've all run into these people, they have those earbuds that fit nicely into their ears, and yet they have to have their music up so loud so you can hear it (words too) about 3 or 4 feet away. That to me is worse than cars with their music up loud. Cause cars are there and then they're gone, problem solved, but when you're sitting in a room with these people (or on the bus, as the case happens to be sometimes), that bothers me so much. And I think half of that is cause tiny noises seem to give me headaches so easily. Like if there's a buzzing of a machine, if I sit listening to that for hours (even sometimes 10 min), I get the most annoying headaches. Course then I stick my headphones on and listen to music, and people ask how I can do that with a headache, well most of the time, my country music helps my headaches, and the music drowns out the little noises.
The other thing is computers. I've noticed in my classes where people use computers, that you can always tell who has the computer to take notes, and doesn't really know much about them and those that do. The note-takers, never let the computer fall asleep, they always touch the mouse when it blacks out. Now, letting the screen saver come on, or letting it fall asleep is a good thing for the computer. The whole point of a screen saver is so the background, or whatever is running, doesn't imprint itself into the monitor (now I have no idea how this happens, and it may not happen as much with the newer machines, but this is what I was told, when I had my first laptop), and it falling asleep is good cause it's conserving battery power (I know some of the newer machines have longer battery lives, but some computers don't and I also know that the wireless card, which it seems everyone has in their comp, sucks the battery power). Also, there's this kid (this has happened twice now), that sits in the same building as I waiting for a class (I'm guessing), and generally at the same computer, that seems so mad when he's using it, he pounds on the keyboard, mouse, and table (which really doesn't help me using the computer), and then slams it shut when he's done. Yeah, like that's gonna help.
So, I'm excited for the weekend, actually almost all the stuff between now and Sun is good (not really excited about a few classes, but I deal well). Tonight is Survivor (yes, I like reality shows. DEAL), and CSI premiere. Tomorrow I get 3 hrs of break between my classes and I get to watch Mr. Hottie tomorrow, Men in Trees is on tomorrow night. Sat is the Hog Roast at the Harley store, only its supposed to be cold, and sun is a local art show/sale. Course its' supposed to be cold from now until sometime next week so that sucks, but...
Actually I should be used to this right? Considering where I live with our harsh winters, and I do, I just have to have the adjustment period that's required for my body, while it's switching from Summer to winter. There are some gorgeous days in the winter, when it's cold.
So, yeah, I'll see if I can have something exciting to write about next time.

Bringin' some attitude.
From Palm Beach County, FL: Deputy Rick Santos; Chattanooga, TN: Officer Derrick Pendergrass, Officer Pete Miller; Palm Springs, CA: Officer Anthony Pilutik.
Chattanooga, TN: Officer Brian Lockhart, Officer Chris Sims, Sgt Barry Burns; Pittsburgh, PA: Sgt. Craig Campbell; Spokane, WA: Officer Brian Eckersley, Officer Kurt Vigesaa.
Why do people always say they don't have anything illegal in their vehicles and the cops can check wheny they KNOW there is? You don't have to let the cops search your vehicle. They can't legally search it if you deny the search unless there's something in plain view.
Also, how come the drugs magically appear?
And by the way, I proved on my birthday that you can say no to a stranger when they ask if you want a ride. It can be done. Course I'm not a prostitute and the guy could have been trying to be nice, or maybe he just wanted some of my alcohol, either way, my ass wasn't getting in that car.
I am never gonna understand why people shove needles (or anything else, for that matter) up their ass. Out of all the uncomfortable places to shove stuff. And then to have a cop (I'm really sorry that has come to be in your job description) pull it out. It hurts just thinking about it.
Also, you might wanna know how much drugs make it so you are able to be arrested. I love the conversation between Officer Pendergrass and the passenger in the green truck:
Officer P: Half a joint and a little bit of marijuana
Bearded Guy: Out west they just give you a ticket
Officer P: Well, go back out West, You're on the East Coast now man
I love that.
Alright, I've giving out 2 Hott Cop Statuettes tonight (cause I couldn't pick between the two).
One for Officer Pilutik, cause he was too young to buy his gun and ammunition when he was hired, no wait, that was just a perk of the evening. ;)

The other to Officer Pendergrass. I know I enjoy watching him, and he reminds me of my guy, course he was also on both eps tonight.
And because blogger's being stupid (and I forgot to add these yesterday), had a little problem getting you guys' statuettes up. But I finally did.
And as I type this, we've got a thunderstorm (and lightening, this thing is really going), so I'm feeling for my guys. I hope they don't have to get out in this, cause I know those rain slickers don't help a damn bit.Friday, September 15, 2006
Wait for Me
Anyways, I was conversing with Goddess about him, and she kept telling me to go talk to him. And I'm pretty damn shy when it comes to talking to guys, so of course I didn't. But he kept looking my way today. That could be because I was sitting in front of the door, so maybe he was looking for the guy that came to meet with him later, or he was paying attention to the class that was in a classroom behind me.
I don't know if I'm regretting not talking to him (probably), or maybe I just want him to come back so I can stare at him some more
Whatever
Whatever
Dre just let it run
Ay yo turn the beat up a little bit
Ay yo, this song is for anyone
Fuck it just shut up and listen
Ay yo
I sit back with this pack of zigzags
And this bag of this weed
It gives me the shit needed to be
The most meanest emcee on this - on this earth
Cause since birth I've been cursed with this curse to just cursed
And just blurt this bezerk and bizarre shit that works
And it sells and it helps in its self
To relieve all this tension dispensing me
Sentence is getting it, stress has been eating me recently
All through this chest and I rest to get peacefully
But at least have the decency in you to leave me alone
When you freaks see me out in the streets when I'm eating or feedin' my daughter
To not come and speak to me
I don't know you and no I don't owe you a motherfuckin thing
I'm not Mr. NSYNC and I'm not what your friends think
I'm not Mr. Friendly
I can be a prick, if you tip me my tank is on empty
No patience is in me and if you offend me I'm lifting you ten feet
In the air, I don't care who was there and who saw me just jaw you
Go call you a lawyer file you a lawsuit
I'll smile in the courtroom and buy you a wardrobe
I'm tired of arguing - I don't mean to mean but it's all I can be
It's just me
And I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
Radio won't even play my jam
Cause I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am
Sometimes I just feel like my father, I hate to be bothered
With all of this nonsense it's constant
And "oh it's just lyrical content!"
The song "Guilty Conscience" has gotten such rotten responses
And all of this controversy circles me
And it seems like the media immediately points a finger at me
So I point one back at 'em
But not the index or the pinky or the ring or the thumb
It's the one you put up when you don't give a fuck
When you won't just put up with the bullshit they pull
Cause they full of shit too
When a dude's gettin bullied and shoots up your school
And they blame it on Marilyn - and the heroin
Where were the parents at?
And look at where it's at middle America
Now it's a tragedy
Now it's so sad to see
An upper class city having this happening
Then attack Eminem cause I rap this way
But I'm glad cause they feed me the fuel
That I need for the fire to burn and it's burnin' and I have returned
And I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
Radio won't even play my jam
Cause I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am
I'm so sick and tired of being admired
That I wish that I would just die or get fired
And drop from my label and stop with the fables
I'm not gonna be able to top what my name is
And pigeon holdin' to some poppy sensations
They cop me rotation at Rock 'N' Roll stations
And I just do not have the patience
To deal with this cocky Caucasians
Who think I'm some wigga who just tries to be black
Cause I talk with an accent and grab on my balls
So they always keep asking the same fucking questions
What school did I go to?
What hood I grew up in?
The why? The who, what?
When and where and the how?
Till I'm grabbing my hair and I'm tearing it out
You've been driving me crazy, I can't take it
I'm racing, I'm pacing, I stand and I sit
And I'm thankful for every fan that I get
But I can't take a shit in the bathroom
Without someone standing by it
No I won't sign your autograph
You can call me an asshole
I'm glad cause
And I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
Radio won't even play my jam
Cause I am
Whatever you say I am
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am?
In the papers, the news, everyday I am
I don't know it's just the way I am

They didn't have you where I come from
I don't want to be a bandage if the wound is not mine
This was sent to me through my womenwhoridemotorcycles yahoo group, enjoy:
"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great great-grand children, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."
ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone not just you!You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. (This one is my pet peeve..get an education and go to work....don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)
ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)
ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.
ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (lastly....)
ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!!
Ugh, I want a break. How sad is that? It's the 5th week of school and I'm burned out. I blame it on not having enough vacation time this summer, as well as not having a spring break week. I worked during last year's spring break, and so my spring break was the week at the end of May when we went to Chicago. I haven't had a fun vacation, of more than a day away from life since then. I know, once I get out of college and into the working world, I really won't have any of those.
I'm just longing for a day or days where I can get away from work and school stuff. That's all I did this past weekend. I worked Sat, and then came home and mowed lawns, cause I had to get them done before it rained, I was pretty damn close too, it was starting just as I finished. And then Sun I read homework all damn day. And I'm gonna have to sign off and read some more as I have my first test tomorrow night. I'm just so sick of it all. I was very tempted to just skip class today and not do anything. But then once you get away, you always have to come back. That's what I hate the most. I really hate my boring life. And yes, I know it's my choice to make it exciting or not, but I'm a pretty boring person. The most fun I've had lately, was when I went to Porky's a couple weeks ago, I loved that, I love being aroung motorcycles and riding on them. That's probably the one unboring thing about me.
Course, as much as I want to get away from school shit, I'm very scared of what comes after. I think my biggest fear, now and always, is the future. The unknown of what's gonna happen after the end of college. I always knew at the end of high school, I'd go to college, and that would prolong the unknown for 4 years, well now it's been 5, and I'm graduating in Dec and I have no damn idea what I'm gonna do after. And that just freaks me out.

Lookit the hotties tonight
And the third one in Martin County, FL, a couple detectives get some info on a guy with crack cocaine, and you can tell he's a crack dealer, cause he's got multiple gold rings, a nice looking gold watch, gold earrings, and a few gold necklaces/chains, plus his tons of money, none of these go with his look of the Latino (I think that's the PC term) in a tank top, with a straw hat riding a bicycle. And he's got a container of rock down the front of his pants and he calls it candy, yeah right. So, they test the rock (candy) and the detective says "it tests positive for cocaine, you're candy, so I guess we can call it candy cocaine...so you're the candy cocaine man".
Second episode:
First segment: Sheriff's deputies pull a car over at a gas station, under suspicion of a drug deal, then find out the passengers don't have seatbelts, plus there's open containers in the car. And who answers their phone when they're being detained by the cops?
Hott Cops tonight: From Martin County, FL: Detective Danny Cunningham, and the K-9 guy, but they didn't give us a name
Palm Beach County, FL: the guy standing behind the black kid at the end.
Palm Springs, CA: Officer Anthony Pilutik
Chattanooga, TN: Officer Aaron Williams, Officer Derrick Pendergrass
And the Hott Cop Statuette goes to Deputy Jarrod Foster from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept in Florida.
By the way, I had a hard time deciding between Officer Pilutik, Officer Pendergrass, and Deputy Foster tonight, but Deputy Foster won cause of his ink. Plus, ya can't really see much of Officer Pendergrass tonight, he was on maybe a couple seconds at the beginning of the last segment.

The concert
I actually didn't get the door I signed up for, I was one the north side, which is usually pretty slow, unless it's a bball game. I think I might have had 30 people at my door.
And of course the drunks were fun to watch, after the opening act, the line to the beer stand or the id bracelets (I couldn't quite tell which it was), was pretty long. And then about halfway through the line to the ATM was long, I was thinking: now that they spent all their money on beer, they had to go get more. I was surprised the ATM didn't run out of money, someone must have come earlier and stocked that thing. Most of the drunks were just walking drunk, I did have a few entertaining ones. One guy had beers in both hands, stopped and asked a guy to help him with the door, the guy kinda looked at him, so the dude with beer, walks right up to the wall, touches it and then walks away. I was thinking, maybe you should just put those beers down and walk away. I had one chick that left (we have a policy that if you leave, you can't come back in, unless you're at the smoking patio, then you're not really leaving), and she tried to come back, I had to tell her a couple times she couldn't come in (no sympathy from me, even though she was crying), finally a couple of her friends see her and come out and start chatting with her. Apparently she didn't have her ID (cause it was with her BF), and she was 21, yeah good reason to cry.
We also had one woman (I didn't actually see this), who had 2 full beers (the cups are probably about 8 oz each) and fell down, spilling both of them, but just jumped right back up and got some more, that was probably my biggest beer spill. We had some huge spill outside the women's restroom, as well as tons inside. I heard someone threw up in one of the women's rest rooms, and there apparently was quite a bit of it. I'm guessing it was from a lady I saw, that kept covering her mouth, and I kept thinking, just go to the rest room, I really don't wanna see this, but finally she went back inside.
I also had a lady that claimed some guy hit her, that got the DPS officers and a supervisor to come to my door and chat with her, I found out later the paramedics looked at her. I had lots of people looking for the smoking patio, and after I told them, every single person asked how far, as if it would have made a difference. But I guess they thought since I was at a door, I should let them smoke, sure I could do that, but then they wouldn't be coming back in. We also had one of the beer signs break and had glass on the floor. It first came through as a broken glass, and I was trying to figure out where that would have come from since the concessions people don't give the glass bottles (for smirnoff and other stuff) to the patrons, and no one was let in with glass.
But I was surprised how quickly everyone left afterwards. Course I haven't worked a concert since the Christian thing we had (not that that was really a concert) and Slipknot before that, and that was April, so yeah it's been awhile. So the projected time for us to be done was 11:30, and that was pretty much on time. I got home at 11:45, packed my bag for today (since I came straight from class to work last night), and went to bed. And then I woke up 5 minutes before my bus and I'm slowly fully waking up now. I figured we wouldn't get done until after midnight last night.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention all the cute guys. We had some nice looking sheriff's deputies, though I only saw them once, when I was going up to my door, saw their car a couple times. The DPS officers, one of them was cute. Older guys for the city cops. And tons of yummy looking concert goers.
Oh, and some of the costumes, I guess they decided since most of the music was 80s stuff, they should dress in 80s wear. They weren't that bad, but I know we had at least 3 guys with mullet wigs, one guy had long brown hair on the bottom and a short blond wig on top, pair that with his bleached jeans and vest, and black cowboy boots, you couldn't miss him.
I haven't quite figured out why people will pay $77 for tickets, and god knows how much for beer, and of course most everyone had to go for a smoke at least 5 times throughout the night, I was wondering how much they were missing between going out for a smoke, and getting beer.

Fun from Sodapop
I get 5 words and I have to post what the first thought is for each word, that enters my mind. So here we go.
military: hott guys, yummy uniforms
accountability: I have no idea what this means (second thought: my guess accountable for something, I'm pretty good at that.)
anger: not something I handle well
diet: I don't diet, I eat what I want when I want, and I still wiegh 120lbs
smoke: can't stand it, can't breathe it, hate it.
Hope that will hold you all until I'm awake enough to post about work later. It's wierd, I'm so nervous about it even though I know there's no need to be nervous, maybe it's just cause I've worked in about a month (at the center). I had to swap my jeans 4 times today, cause we have to wear jeans for concerts. And I'm very nervous about supper, cause I really don't have that much time to eat anything, so I packed some granola bars that I hope will keep me awake. Even though I know that once people start coming in the doors, I won't need anything to keep me awake, I'll be awake till I leave, and then quite a bit after I get home, even when I need to sleep.
Hope everyone else has a fun and exciting night.

Was I strong?
So, Sunday wasn't too bad. Got to my aunt's around noon, my cousin, that I haven't seen in 2 years was there, I decided that if he was there, I was gonna be there. I just hate that everyone keeps asking me what I'm gonna do after I graduate in December, NO I DON'T KNOW!!! It's hard following a brother that knew exactly what he wanted when he started college, got out and 4 yrs and had a job already lined up when he got out. And then with my change in views on what I want to do, well that doesn't make it any easier. There was a time, that I knew exactly what I wanted to be (a cop), but shit changed and that's not gonna happen anymore. Course, if I could be my dream (an artist), life would be good, but life doesn't like me.
I'm also very much panicking about my classes, I haven't quite decided if they're harder than I thought, if I'm just freaked cause this is my last semester or what.
Environmental Sociology: I'm taking this to fill in extra Soc courses for my major. But, I really have no interest in enviro soc, so it's a lot of reading on something I'm not entirely caring about. Though it is interesting to listen to other people talk on the subject. But, I feel really lost in that class.
Social Psychology: This I'm taking to fulfill a requirement for my Criminal Justice major, it's proabably my easiest class. Plus it's filed under the psych dept, I took a social psych that was considered a soc class, and I've taken an intro to psych class, so it kinda overlaps on those two. I'm just annoyed that I had to spend $62 for a clicker thing for that class, it's supposed to be easier for the profs for quizzes, my prof was trying real hard to sell it, saying we could use it for the rest of our time at college, FYI: this is my last semester, just let me write my answers down on paper.
Free Will, Fate, and Moral Responsibility: Yeah, I don't understand this class, I think it will be my hardest. Course philosophy classes seem to be hard for me anyway. I signed up for this when I was considering a minor in philosophy (cause I screwed up, I really don't even like phil, i just thought you had to take 201 before 230, so then after those 2 and a required other 300-400 level class I already had 3, and you only need 5 for a minor), but I decided that 2 phil classes in one semester was too much, so this one is just here. It sounded pretty interesting, I'm just having the hardest time getting it. We alreayd had one paper turned in for it, and as we were discussing that paper, I realized I did it wrong.
Police and Society: this is for my CJ major, I wanted to take it, cause it sounded interesting. It's new this semester. It's actually pretty interesting I haven't been bored with it yet.
Criminology: This is also for my CJ major, I'm just taking it cause it also sounds fun and this is the first time I could get in.
So, yeah, I'm lost in the enviro soc and phil class, and the others are ok, it just seems like a lot.

there's never a wish better than this
Let's see, slacked off this morning, walked to a local bakery and bough $14 worth of pastries, yummy shit, that may last me a couple days. Slacked off a little more, started some intriguing reading for my criminology class.
I'm so sick of my parents calling me and deciding that I'm gonna rearrange my schedule to do something for them. It's so annoying. My dad did that on Wed night, he's trying to hook up a wireless connection at the rental property, and was having troubles with it, so he asked me to bring the laptop over to help. That was on Sat, and then he found out we had to physically connect to the modem to figure out the prob, so he asks me when is good for me, but doesn't tell me if we're gonna do it then, or give me a time. So, on Wed, about 5:30, he calls me up and tells me I'm helping him with the modem (like I don't have other things I'm trying to do, I'm already behind on my reading, cause I slacked off last weekend, and well I was trying to get some other shit done for the next day), so I went over there, found out I needed to install the modem on my comp, but had to go get my CD drive (cause it's external, my laptop's nice and thin), and of course my CD drive doesn't always like to work, and of course this would be one of those times. And then today, he calls me at 8:30, which was OK cause I was already up and doing shit, but I would have been really pissed if the phone woke me up. I'm doing this (more or less) voluntarily, god forbid you work on my schedule, when I'm fully awake and dressed. And then this afternoon, he told me I was going to the grocery store with him, this is actually not too bad, cause he always buys me food when we go grocery shopping, but I had just started my reading, and it's kinda hard to get in the mood to read boring textbooks, so when I'm in the mood I like to finish what I have to read. And then, I got a nice shower walking home, cause I was carrying 5 bags (him 2 and a 12 pack of pop), and it was pouring. That wasn't too bad cause after we got unloaded, I went back out and soaked up the rain. Now if you know me, you know I love the rain, I've been kinda bummed this season, cause it's been raining a lot at night when I can't enjoy it, so I'm taking every chance I can get. And on with the boringness of my day, ate aupper, watched TV, and came back home to read my email. Where I was pleasantly surprised. I got a nice comforting email from my friend, Patch.
I met Patch, I believe when I was in middle school, that's about 10 yrs ago now (where did the time go?), through AOL instant messenger, and we've obviously swapped tons of IM's, and emails, and I've had a couple really nice phone calls with him. I wouldn't really know what to call our relationship, just that I know it's more than friendship. Anyways, he keeps telling me that he's gonna come and visit me, but it seems like I keep getting my hopes up, only to be disappointed yet again (I've gotten very used to disappointment, though not always from him, actually some of the cops I know started it, sadly). Sometimes I wish he would just drop everything and come, but as we all know, there's shit that gets in the way. So, anyway in this email he told me he might be able to make the trip. And I really wanna believe him, but...
And tomorrow, I get to run away and spend the day with my extended family. Not a bad thing, but I have to spend 4 hrs in the car with my parents, 2 hrs each way. Not so much the most fun in the world. If I pick the right music, we should be ok.

I'm so afraid to love you, more afraid to lose
Which brings me to another point, why do people not want their laptops to fall asleep while they're in class? It's actually good for the computer. See, the whole point of a screen saver is so, what's on your screen doesn't get imprinted on the screen, and the whole point of a computer falling asleep/hibernating/going into standby is for it to save power, which is good. Most likely, you're computer's running on battery power so its conserving its power. But oh no, if that screen goes blank it's very very bad.

Kiss my eyes
And then there's the people who don't know how to throw away their Daily. The Daily is the campus paper, and most likely its in every building in campus. Well, it seems, that all students (yes, I know, not all students do this), pick up a paper, read it, and then throw it on the floor and go about their business, or they leave it on the table/desk/whatever. And then they walk away. Because obviously their mother works at the university. I've had that problem at the library as well, people leave lights on (on the separate carrels where student sit and do homework), and leave their chairs out. Now, I'm not gonna complain about them leaving books, out, cause I'm paid to put them away, and we'd rather they did this, cause most don't put them away right.
And, I know I've mentioned this before but I love Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on campus. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Airforce, and Navy have to dress in uniforms, and Wednesdays, Army has to dress in uniform. I never get tired of seeing those. Unfortunately I don't have any of those unis in my classes. Sigh.
Another thing, see if I get any commentary on this, do guys worry about how they look? Cause you know they generally look pretty damn good in their jeans and shirts. I was watching guys yesterday during my break, and I'm always trying to watch people in my classes (yes, I love watching people), and we all know my 9AM class instructor is hott.
And speaking of my 9AM class, there's this one guy that has shown up twice to the class, the first day and today. I've had this guy in one of my classes last semester, he plays football (which is no excuse, cause there's 2 other football players in this class, and they've been there everyday), and he'd always show up late to that class as well. He's shown up this semester at 9:30, class is 30 minutes over with 20 minutes left, why the hell even bother to come? Especially since he's already missed a quiz and a couple attendance days. I hate it when some people just half ass classes, and then because they're late the last seat is in the front of the room and so they disrupt the whole class to get to that seat.
Why are there so many good looking guys on this campus and I'm still single? I'm getting real sick of being single. Is there something wrong with me?

My love will follow you everywhere.
I was me, later in life, and I found a man I liked, and of course did those fun things that couples do, and then I was having an argument with him, and he left and then the door opened, and suddenly I was reading about this chick that had been kidnapped and it had been so long without this person (the me of before) that people had moved on with their lives, and it ended that this person, girl, was saying that she hoped she could reach them somehow. Very wierd, but I could see myself lying on a couch and reading this story that was really about me. And then I woke up very suddenly, very freaked out, and very scared. I remember thinking I was gonna be kidnapped like the me in the dream, and I remember lying there and looking all over my room, I was so freaked, I even unplugged my cell phone and stuck it in bed with me, as if it would really happen. I remember lying there, I have no idea how long, and just staring into the darkness.

I just think it's a nice place to relax
I really enjoyed the short tiny rides, and hanging out at Trophies and Porky's. I love going on rides with large groups of bikers (15 or more bikes), and then getting together and just hanging out. I didn't quite enjoy the bar (the Jungle Room) that much, but just cause there was cigarette smoke, and lots of noise, so you really can't hear each other talk. But I love Porky's and Trophies.

Stand your ground when everyone's giving in
So, I read in the paper, Tuesday, I believe, that Joe Rosenthal died, that's the guy that took the famous picture of the flag raising on Iwo Jima.
Also, Pluto is no longer considered a planet, that's right, now it's only a star.

I was blown away
Well, today, we went to a tea room here in town, and then shopped around it afterward. And then we went to a tiny town about 5 miles north. Which I didn't really wanna do (but I'll let you in on a little secret: it was fun). Anyways, a couple years ago, 3 consignment shops moved into the downtown area here, and we've been saying we should go in and look in them. Well, I suggested we do that, and she said "I've been to the one on _____ and it's not very interesting", guess that means, I won't be interested in it. And then, she decided we weren't gonna do anything downtown, cause I could do that anyday of the week, yes I could, but I thought we were gonna do the "touristy thing here". Which I found out, there is nothing I haven't heard of in my town, so...yeah. And she decided I'm going to a movie with her tonight, a movie I have no desire to see, and of course it's always nice to go to movies with your parents. I had also suggested a rock store that's west of town, but she decided since she wasn't interested in it, we weren't going. Once again, god forbid I want to go, cause it's obviously all about you. Did I mention I'm helping her move shit at her office to get ready before the students come back Monday. Yes, I am getting paid for it, but still kinda ruins the whole, touristy thing, don't ya think.
And tomorrow is another fun filled day with my mom. Once again, tons of sarcasm in that.

Devil without cause and I'm back
Yep, I have a temper, if you're my guinea pig, you would know that. But, maybe if she were smarter and learned when to shut the fuck up, there would be no problem. Or, other times I get annoyed with myself and take it out on my walls, thankfully I haven't had anything more serious than red knuckles, until today. I'm thinking I bruised my hand, or something, cause nothing feels broken (thank God)
I believe this is one of the reasons I will never become a cop, my temper and very short fuse. Plus, I will speak my mind (that has gotten me in trouble a couple times), you will not stop me from speaking my mind, unless I think I may be fired for it. But, certain (stupid) people get on my nerves and I can't help but blow up on them. I actually thought I was doing a good job of keeping a lid on it until yesterday when some person (see, I did pretty good with the namecalling there) yelled at me for standing in my yard, to which I went to confront her, and her boyfriend came out, and I could tell he knew I wouldn't back down, until he stepped in and told her to be quiet and asked (well not exactly) me to go back to my yard. My guess is if he hadn't stepped in and said his girlfriend shouldn't have yelled at me for being in my yard, well things would have escalated.
Like I said, I have a temper, and I don't back down. And that gets me in trouble

Well, crap
I feel like crap, and not just cold/flu crap, really painful crap, course as I'm typing this it's not as bad, so hopefully it will run away.
I've got a really annoying painful sharp jabbing pain in my stomach, plus I'm very nauseated and feeling like I'm gonna puke. I haven't thrown up in like months if not a whole year. I feel if I move or do too much of anything I will pass out or puke. Lucky me.
CRAP
And like I said, I'm planning on seeing Karli this evening, I have to mow at least one lawn tomorrow morning, and I hope to go to the state fair tomorrow evening. If this goes and messes up any of these plans I will be very disappointed to say the least.
And then magically it's gone, only took it 40 min, stupid body.

My life is boring
So, it's geting to the end of the summer, that usually means three things for me: Iowa State Fair, week up north, and of course, classes starting.
I think the State Fair is the one thing that hasn't become less fun as I get older (of course, I don't really remember going as a kid, so that could have something to do with it, or at least not going for fun, I went a few times when my 4-H stuff), I remember going with my aunt and her family when I was younger. I remember one year, my uncle and I were having a contest of who could collect the most promotional magnets. I like going to the fair, there's never been a time, where I've gone that I haven't had fun, even when I only went for 4-H stuff. Course it seems to be more fun when I go with friends (not quite sure why). Two years ago, I went with a couple people I met online, I remember I told them all the stuff I wanted to do and we did it. Last year I went with Karli, because she had won tickets to Big & Rich, and took me along. This year, looks like I won't be going, that kinda bums me out. I don't know of anyone else who is going, it's just no fun to go by yourself.
My grandparents had a timeshare condo up in a town 4 hrs north, for a week at the end of the summer, and I remember going there as a little kids, the four of us and my dad's parents. We have some great pictures from that place. I'm not quite sure when my dad got it, but both my dad's parents are gone now, and it's really nice to go up there and reminisce. Also, a place that doesn't get boring as I get older. There's always a couple places that have been there as long as I can remember, and thankfully are still there now. I'm gonna miss going this year. It just doesn't mesh with our schedules, classes start on the 21st, and as far as I know the week we've had up there has nicely always fallen on the week before classes start, but this year, it starts on the 19th. We could drive up Sat and drive back Sun, but that's a ton of driving for just 2 days. I have a class at 9 on Mon, otherwise we might be able to stay longer. I'm really gonna miss that this year.
And classes start soon. I'm almost looking forward to that (I know I'll regret saying that later), but I'm so bored right now. My internship ended on Friday (yes, I passed, kinda sucks we do it for a grade, but...), and I'm ready to have a nice structured schedule and stuff to do. I wanna work on my classes so I won't have to worry when grades come out. I didn't wanna stick that on my other blog, cause my parents will hold me to that, even if I'm already pushing for it, it will be too much pressure. This I know, my mom loves to put pressure on me.
Course, fall coming also means the return of shows. So, that will be fun, I think I've cut back a little, with shows I've decided I won't get hooked to this season, and one's that were cancelled. So, with luck, I'll be tuning back in for Medium, The Unit, Bones, CSI, Supernatural, Cops, Cold Case and the Amazing Race. I think it would actually be more productive for me (and a bonus at the end of the week), to tape them, and then watch them on the weekend. That way, I wouldn't have to worry about getting shit done before watching them, and then I'd have a nice bonus at the end of the week. Only bad thing, two of my shows are on at the same time, on the same day, so that's always rough.
I'm just so bored with my life right now. Same shit every day. Get up, piddle around til I go to work. Sit there and read for about 3 hours. Come home, go on a walk (which really isn't boosting my mood lately, it's just a way to get off my ass and out of the house), watch some TV, go to bed. Every day. Sometime next week, I will be going to the bookstore to give my money away. Then I'll see what wonders I get to delve into this fall. That's kinda half the reason I want classes to start, see more people, and, hopefully, not be bored all the time.
Hopefully I'll get back into a structured schedule as well. Not that my schedule isn't that structured now as you can see above, but I need more to do.

Look stars
I seem to be real good at fucking myself up at work. Tues when I was closing I TRIPPED UP the stairs, that's real talent right there. And if I hadn't grabbed the railing, I would have slammed my face into those stairs and probably knocked myself out. Go me in the talent department.
Yeah, I'm on that no money for food diet. I do have ~$500, but I have to save that to spend on books, once I figure out how much I need for books, and I mow a lawn, I can spend money on food. It's wierd, I just spent about $30 dollars on food at HyVee on Sunday, and I'm already out of food. That was 4 or 5 TV dinners, 2 12 packs of Vault, some donuts, a box of granola bars and some fruit/milk drinks. I can get so much more for less at Fareway.
UGH! So the summer semester of classes ends on Friday and fall starts in 2 weeks. I can't believe summer's over already. I feel old saying this but...it feels like only yesterday I started at my internship. And now, tomorrow, I'm going to say goodbye, they're throwing me a mini party (read the director's getting a few of the volunteers to come in and say goodbye to me). Hopefully, she gave me good feedback and comments on the evaluation she turned into my advisor, we do get graded on this, and I need a nice passing grade to graduate. Though, as far as I know, she didn't have any problems with me, I always did what I was asked, there actually wasn't more than was asked of me to do. So, I should be ok. Of course it sucks not knowing what you got, and seeing as how it wasn't really a course where you're graded on tests and papers and such, I'm really not gonna know til the 9th. I hate waiting, course seeing as I'm not too worried about it, I should be OK. There's only thing that worries me (and I really hope she didn't mention this), but I'm not gonna say anything about it until after my grade is posted, in case someone who knows me, reads this and may have a hand in changing my grade. And by that time, I may have forgotten it, so it may never be posted.
Am I the only one that doesn't give a damn about Mel Gibson and his drunken arrest? Everyone's blowing it out of proportion, now I'm not saying he should have said the shit he did, but if this were a normal person. NO ONE WOULD CARE! It would just be swept under the rug, and no one would even know. This is the way I feel about celebs, I don't really give a damn about their personal lives, if they weren't celebs, it would be normal (not that it isn't), and no one would ever know. But, god forbid we not know someone almost dropped their baby, or that someone got arrested for driving drunk.

Angel Seasons 1-5, American History X, Aladdin
Batman: The Movie, Back to the Future I and II, Beverly Hills Cop I, II, and III, Babe, Beauty and the Beast, A Bug's Life, The Blues Brothers

Doc Hollywood, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Die Hard Trilogy

Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, Flight 232 Crash, Final Destination 1, and 2, Four Brothers
The Great Mouse Detective
Hackers
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Terminator 2, Three Kings, A Time to Kill, Titanic, Tru Calling Season 1
Undersiege 1 & 2
The Wizard of Oz
X-Men, X2
certain episodes of Pacific Blue, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, New York Undercover, That's Life, The Huntress, So Wierd, Third Watch, Cover Me, In a Heartbeat
And a few new additions: Assault on Precinct 13, Con Air, and Three Musketeers. Assault didn't quite live up to my expectations, in the extra stuff on the DVD, they kept mentioning how it was focused more on the characters, and then they go and kill off almost all of these characters (yes, even the 'good guys'), so I was a little annoyed about that, but it is good. Con Air, I've only seen on TV, so never in full, and obviously never before Nicolas Cage gets on the plane. Musketeers, a great favorite of mine.
So, now that you all know the movies I own, any suggestions for other ones I should buy? The only ones I don't particularly like are: A Civil Action, wasn't as good as I remember it, same goes for 21 Jump Street, I watched that when I was a kid, and knowing what I know about the law and police stuff now, most of that stuff wouldn't work in real life. Batman, also not as good, this is from the TV show, with Adam West as Batman, my brother and I used to watch this as kids. Also, I'd never seen Final Destination 1, just 2, and I don't think 1 is as good as 2.

That's the way we get down in a hicktown
I'm watching him on this music festival, he turns me on so easily. OH, he's so hott, in his button up western shirt, only buttoned up to his chest, straw hat, jeans and cowboy hat. YUMMY!!!
And If I can’t have him, can I have one of his guitar toting buddies, they’re pretty damn hott too.

Well, I've decided, today, and a lot lately, I'm very happy listening/watching music. What I wouldn't give to be at the music festival. But I don't get to be THAT happy.
Cross Post
So, I was watching this show called Wife Swap on ABC while I was waiting for something else to come on. Anyways, this one family has so much clutter, they stack shit in their shower, HOW GROSS IS THAT? Unfortunately, I can myself as the mother in this family. There's clutter/crap everywhere, boxes of stuff that should be sorted out, and certain things thrown away. She buys frozen stuff/easy to make stuff for meals and eats on paper plates. That's me, I'm gonna turn into that, only I won't have kids, I'll be the old maid, with dogs instead of cats, not having a permanent job, always looking for happiness. So much to look forward to. Lucky me :S
When did people stop dressing up for their concerts? Or am I just nuts and singers never actually dressed up? I'm watching the CMA country music festival, a huge country music concert, actually tons of them in Nashville, and Martina McBride's performing, she's wearing a black t-shirt and what looks like white warm up pants. I don't mind so much if the guys don't dress up cause they look pretty damn good (at least some of them) in jeans and a t-shirt, but chicks have so many more clothes to look at, they can look so gorgeous if they just tried, but a t-shirt and jogging pants? Come on. OOO, Jason Aldean's supposed to perform, I really like him.

Where's my ride?
I had the greatest dream last night, I got to go on a motorcycle ride with a cute guy, I got to visit family, I got to see people I hadn't in a long time, and I got to guy watch where there were plenty of cute guys. And then I saw one of my buddies in my dream, and a chopper, which turned out to be a real bike outside my window and then I was back in my life. Lucky me.

Firemountain
And, yes I will say it, I am racist, I haven't met or come into contact with an Asian that I've particularly liked, though I don't wonder if they speak English or not. As far as I know I don't have any feelings one way or the other with Mexicans or Spanish speaking people, my boss speaks Spanish and I'm not entirely sure of her nationality, but I'm guessing it's S. America, but I don't have any problem with them. And I think Black guys are hot, I also think Black women are more beautiful than white women. As far as the rest of the nationalities, I don't think I have a problem with them, but I haven't really run into that many, I know I don't blame the people here in the US, that look like they're from the Middle East for 9/11, I do know I love English and Australian accents.
And, am I wrong for feeling this way: Everytime I watch a movie with my dad, I always end up explaining stuff to him, because even though the TV is at least 27", he still can't really tell the different actors/actresses apart, and then his hearing is failing, so I have to explain it again, and louder. I know his eyesight is bad, it has been for awhile, and it only gets worse, so he uses a cane (think white cane for blind people) when he's out and about, he can't see that well when it's extremely sunny, or dark. He's got a special thing that magnifies stuff so he can read it. I just get so annoyed when I have to explain things to him, and I do feel bad about feeling annoyed, but not so much that I don't feel annoyed, if that makes any sense whatsoever.
I've decided my mother's become hypocritcal in her older age. My neighbors were having a garage sale today, so they stuck a sign in the corner parkway of our house. Now, I got pissed about that, because as I've learned from my mother, the city owns the parkways, and we (the landowners/people who do the upkeep on them, are not to put anything in them, kinda like you're not supposed to put anything on telephone poles cause that's defacing public property), so I took it out, I also had to mow the lawn anyways, so it was gonna come out either way. But, as I was telling mother this, she proceeded to say that I should put it back in when I was done, as that's not something I need to wage a war over with my neighbors. Now, back when she was on council, she would get so annoyed with people who stuck stuff in parkways, that I remember one time, where she stopped at a stop sign, got out of the car, and pulled a sign out because it was in the parkway. So, obviously when people put stuff in parkways it annoys me, now I don't go out of the way to pull it out unless it's in my parkway. Oh, and later when I was mowing another part of the lawn, I watched the guy come over, and proceed to pound the sign back in the ground, right in front of me, he knew I was there. But, it's ok, now that mom's not on the council. Excuse me? Oh, and if this is a karma thing: FUCK KARMA! Karma knows what I want when it comes back around, so we're on pretty good terms. Maybe people should just learn certain things they are and aren't supposed to do.
UGH! I am so sick of people asking me what I'm gonna do when I graduate college. You know there was a time, when I had a plan, I knew what I was gonna do, but certain things happen, and times/minds change. I know I'm graduating in December AND I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT I'M GONNA DO. I just wish I could go to sleep and wake up when I'm 30, or maybe 25 or 27 when my career is picked and I know what I'm doing for the rest of my life. I'm just so sick of this...life.
Oh, and on another interesting painful note, I really think something's fucked up in my body. Today, I got a fun pain in my arm and stomach area at the same time. Very sharp lasted at least five minutes. That was fun. It's also been fun getting the chest pains this week. I'm thinking something's fucked up. But you can bet to hell I'm not spending my time or insurance crap on a damn doctor, cause I can tell you what they'll say, "We don't know what's wrong, but if it gets worse, go to the ER" No fucking thank you. You can only get me into the ER if it's not of my own free will, cause I really don't have the time to care about dr's if they can't figure out what the fuck is wrong with me.
Oh, and you think I"m in a bad mood cause I'm swearing, I'm not, I do this in good moods too.

But something tonight when a bike just went by outside, just put me in a really depressed mood.

Won't you do what I told you
So, it's so nice to have my mother back, she's in a pissy mood cause she wants to do laundry, but doesn't know if she can walk on the laundry room floor or not (cause the carpenter was supposed to be varnishing while they were gone, and well, that's another post), apparently there's supposed to be 6 coats of varnish on it, and as far as I know (I could be wrong), there's only 3, as he didn't start varnishing til Tues afternoon, and they got back last night/this morning. So, in order to get rid of her anger, she's vacuuming everything. I vacuumed last night, and I thought I did a pretty good job, apparently not. She's also called him a couple times, left a message the first time, and is now pretty much grumbling around. Needless to say, I left. I may actually go on a walk this morning, just to get away from her.
Also, I wanna endorse a new food product (I'm pretty sure my endorsement doesn't mean anything to anyone, but...), it's called Betty Crocker's Warm Delights. They're little cake things that you add water to, and stick in the microwave. I bought some today and I just made the Cinnimon (sp?) swirl cake, it's really yummy. Plus they were only like $1.50, I think it's a pretty good deal, I'll let you know how the others are when I eat them.

I've gots the women
So, in about an hour, after I got almost both lawns done (I was mowing until I ran out of gas, I could smell the gas, so I was running on fumes there for awhile), I was pretty much soaked on top, sweat running down my face and neck. So, I knew the one thing that would taste so good was a Mike's Hard Crisp Apple (OK, that's all they had when I went to buy alcohol, so I had to be godawfully hot for it to taste good), but it's only like a quarter to 11, so I was debating whether or not to drink one. And I went upstairs, got one and downed it in like 5 minutes. So, then I had to wash the mower getting myself pretty wet in the process. And then since I was so sweaty I jumped in the shower. I can feel the effects of alcohol, but I have to go to work (good combination huh, its gonna be entertaining doing data entry in my altered state), so I'm so ready to pass out, as I haven't had anything to eat yet.
Why do I always put stuff off?
Like a comment burning bright
Wow, so I figured out why Sodapop likes Miami Ink so much, I watched it tonight and comparing it with the other tattoo show I was watching this week, Inked, I do like MI better. MI’s mostly all about the tattoo artists tattooing and their clients, just the tattooing of them, and the reasons behind the tats. Inked showed more about the lives of the artists, other things they did, though I have to say I like the parlor in Inked better, but that’s just cause it didn’t look like a tattoo parlor, it had lots of woodwork, a big receptionist desk and it was weird, it was right in the middle of what looked to be a shopping mall. Also, instead of a neon sign that said Tattoos on the front of it, it just had a sign with their name on it, kinda weird. The only reason (ok, there are two), I was watching it was cause I was watching this show Overhaulin’ before it, these people on the show take an old crappy looking vehicle and make it beautiful again, the few shows I’ve seen they’ve been older, maybe 60’s vehicles, so I’m not sure if they do other eras, but you would thinks so; and cause Sodapop’s always raving about it.
They had one chick on Miami Ink tonight who was getting a cherub to help her remember her mom and heal from her death. And one of the guys was saying how he's done a lot of ink that's for people remembering loved ones, and I was thinking, when I get enough money saved up for my next tat (or I can get someone to "buy" one for me), I'm getting a fairy on my right shoulder blade for Karli.
Now, if you know me, Karli is my best friend and last Nov she found out she had a brain tumor, which turned out to be cancerous. She got part of it taken out in an operation in Jan, and then started radiation in Feb, and ended that in March. In April, she started Chemo, well the drugs they gave her for the Chemo reacted toxically with her body and sent her into seizures. So, she's been healing since then, and on Thurs she's supposed to have a special brain scan to see if there's any of the tumor left. There is one more treatment that she can have if there is any of it left.
So, getting this tat wouldn't be to remember her, but just cause I love her so much, and realizing how close I came to losing her. The fairy I have in mind is one she has a poster and a magnet of, she's a big fairy fan. And I think it would be very fitting. I know she's gonna beat this and live a very long life, but I also know how quick we can lose the people we love. So, I just wanna get it, maybe I'll even get it in color...

Kinda depressing post today.
I was watching Discovery the other day, I'm an avid CSI watcher (the original), and I know I've heard in the news before that CSI has helped law enforcement as well as the criminals. Well, on Discovery, they do shows like The New Detectives, which do the same thing, they were actually talking about dirt when I was watching it, and I was curious why people don't talke about the Discovery shows helping the criminals. I guess they don't go into as much detail, but I learned from this episode, that you should always clean the dirt off your shoes, or your shovels, or tires if you happen to bury someone somewhere where the dirt is different from the dirt around your house, not that I'll need to use that info but...
Like I said, I'm an avid CSI fan, I didn't used to be, but ever since they had that murder in the airplane, I've been hooked. So, one of the episodes that sticks in my mind is the one titled The Buffalo, where a teenage daughter has her boyfriend kill her father, mother, and brothers to stop her father from sexually abusing her daughter, whose father is also her father (pretty damn sick), because he sexually abused her and she knew he was doing it to her daughter. Well, anyway I saw that again tonight.
And on the line of depressing stuff I watched tonight, I watched a movie called The Burning Bed, which is about a woman who's being abused by her husband, and she finally gets sick of it and burns down the house, takes her children and leaves, and then you see the story as her telling it to her lawyer while she's in jail, with the trial at the end. Anyways, I chose to watch this because I watched part of it for one of my sociology classes, and unfortunately we were unable to finish it, so I wanted to watch the end. It's obviously very sad, but even more sad because it's set in the late 1970's, so everytime the police are called they are unable to do anything about it, and there are no services to help her, even though it's very evident that she's been beaten.
And onto the cross-post:
So, I was watching one of those news shows, Dateline, (go here for the story) last night on NBC. And it was about this couple that couldn't have children, so they were using the Internet to find a pregnant mother who was willing to give up her child. Well, they found one and this mother said she was 6 or so months pregnant and that they would be the perfect family for her child and that she was 100% sure they should have the child, so over a matter of months she would email and talk to them via phone and she became pretty good friends with the wife, and over time she would ask them for money to cover rent or food or whatever. They even had papers drawn up and signed by the mother and the couple for all the legal crap that goes with adoptions.
But there was another couple that she was doing the same thing too. Then maybe when she was about 8 months pregnant she stopped communication with both couples. Now, they went online looking for this mother and started talking to each other in a forum or chat room, and found out that this girl had used the same first name but different last names, same soc sec number, and address in the same area. So Dateline got in touch with one of the couples and asked them to try again to contact this woman, in which the wife sent an email asking what was going on and that she was really worried. The mother replied to this, and the wife, mother, and Dateline set up a meeting in a hotel room close to the mother (Dateline people posing as an attorney, with hidden cameras in the room), so they met and the Dateline people pretended to get info that they would need for the adoption papers. Also, because this couple had already adopted one child the mother said she had a little girl at home as well. During this meeting, the wife still was hoping that it wasn't a scam and that the mother was going to give the baby to her (she was very pregnant looking, according to her timeline she was almost ready to give birth, but she wasn't that pregnant looking). The mother also asked for more money to cover her rent since she wasn't working, and some for food, which the Dateline people set up with their own money and bought a $100 Walmart card.
That night after the meeting the mother met up with a girl, and they proceeded to use the money to buy baby clothes, bottles, and other baby stuff. Though the mother was calling the wife telling her certian things she was doing, such as going out to eat with her child, etc...
Then, she called the wife that night and said she was having contractions and abruptly cut them off. The wife tried calling back for 2 hours, and the number was disconnected.
So, the next day, the Dateline people went and found the mother (she thought they were still attorneys) and said the contractions had stopped. They started asking her her real name and showing her pictures of the person they found who had the name they gave her (this being the girl she met up with the night before), as well as other couples they found she had scammed. She got in her car and drove off while they were asking questions. Then, she called the wife and set up an interview in the hotel again.
As she was talking to the Dateline person, the interviewer was asking her why she did it, and if she had any idea how much it hurt these people, etc. Then the couple she had talked with most recently came into the room and she started crying in front of them and telling them how sorry she was. Though, I didn't see any bit of remorse in her eyes, maybe a little surprise from the "Oh, crap they caught me" thought that had to be running through her mind, but other than that, she was just lying and putting on an act again.
Later, the Dateline people are interviewing the 2 original couples as well as 2 other families she had led on the same way a year earlier. And they were all very hurt (as I can imagine) in what she had done to them. One of the husbands (the one that actually met her) said he just wanted to strangle her. And unfortunately there's no laws against do this to people, there's not really anything law enforcement can charge them with. It could be fraud, but they said it's very hard to catch them, and actually charge them with it.
How cruel can a person be to do this to people?

Your ass is gonna be on television
OK, enough about my health, I'm sure ya'll don't care anyway. And since I know very few people read this, I don't need to be chasing them away with boring ass complaints about my health.
I'm quite amused that people come into the library and can't read. See, we have a large room where if a person is too loud everyone can hear it, so we have signs all over asking people to take their phone calls outside. Well, one of our regulars was chatting on his phone today, and apologized for talking in the room, and then when I got back to the desk, he was still sitting their talking, until I gave him a glare that is.
I used to take their apologies to heart, but when they're the same people and they know that we don't allow them chatting on their cells in here, well, it just doesn't mean anything anymore.
UGH! So, I was reminded how much I dislike children on Tuesday while I was watching the parade. There were about 3 or 4 of them shaking the stop sign, so I yelled at them and they actually listened and ran away. Maybe it's not so much kids that I don't like, just the bunch that the parents don't really pay attention to, so they run all over doing basically whatever they want. That could be it, most likely it's both.
And that is my exciting news of the week. I hope the carpenter's gone when I get home, so I can sit and watch tv, yep I'm thinking about skipping my walk today, even though I shouldn't as I've only gone on 2 walks this week. Course I'm also getting sick of going out for my walk and having it be after 8 when I get home, and then watching 2 or 3 hours of TV, and staying up til midnight and then having to get up early the next morning, you'd think I'd learn. Oh, well.
Hope everyone else is having a good week and they survived the 4th in one piece.

A little bit of this, A little bit of that
Went to the pancake breakfast with my friend, Karli, her mom, and her mom's boyfriend. And I decided while standing in line, as well as while eating pancakes, my town has a lot of good looking firefighters. One, in particular I liked, kinda wish I knew who he was, he was young looking, maybe my age, nice blue shirt, nice mirrored sunglasses, only the ones that are colored, like yellow and pink, ya know what I'm talking about, I think his name was David or something, I got a glance at his name tag, but it wasn't head on, so I don't really know. Gobbled down my pancakes and watched the parade, wasn't that exciting, I was rather amused at the heating, plumbing, and air conditioning truck as well as the tow trucks that were in the parade. Why you'd want those in the parade is beyond me. Also, got to see a few nice cars, a Challenger and a Corvette Stingray.
Went back to my house, gave a little tour to my guests, opened my birthday gift from Karli, a flag pin, and a cute little porcelain (?) hanging about friendship. Settled down and watched tv, drifting between the 2 COPS marathons, finally went for a walk about, 6 or so. Found a dog on my walk, returned it to its owners, only to find it again a little while after, and returned it again. They wanted to give me money, but I didn't want any, though I did give them my name.
Came home and watched more TV. Exciting huh?

Well, that was...fun
Woke up, did my laundry (I was a little slow on that, so even though I only had 2 very small loads, it took all day). Watched TV, went for a walk, bought me some alcohol, and chatted with people. How unexciting is that? Yeah, story of my life.
Well I noticed a buddy of mine, S, has his bike out and is riding it, maybe I can sweet-talk him into giving me a ride. That would be nice. Tomorrow, I'm planning on going to a pancake breakfast, watching a parade, and hanging out with a friend, then I get to work for the rest of the week.
It's funny, I seem to be burned out again, I did get a week long vacation at the end of May/beginning of June, but I'm so ready to get away from life. What I wouldn't give for a nice swim in a pool, or a lake, and just tan inbetween.

Something bad's gonna happen tonight
So, my body's back in this cycle where my stomach is hungry but my brain isn't so I'm not eating that much again. That's gotta be good, and since all I have to eat is cake at the moment, I've got a real healthy/nutritious diet going. I have a headache at the moment, and my country music which generally takes care of it isn't working. Also, I'm in a mood, so yeah. Also, found out I can pull out the hair on my legs rather than shaving them, that's gotta be good.
So, now that I've throughly depressed you...
