Jellyfish

Saturday: I switched shifts with a co-worker and opened instead of closing. I was ok not having to deal with the heat (upper 90's) and heat index (103), there was a heat advisory that had started by the time I left at 1:15. As I was leaving a friend offered me a ride, which I gladly accepted.
Found a birthday wish when I got home:
Though I was a bit perturbed that it was a postcard, it's not like I can save that until my birthday.
Sadly, I got bored the rest of the afternoon. I tried reading books, I tried watching YouTube and movies, I just couldn't get in to anything.
Sunday, I decided to take stock of the blind bags I had opened:
The top are Pint size heroes by Disney, there's 3 Ugly Dolls blind bags, a bunch of My Little Pony and a few Trolls.
I then divvied up the rest of my blind bags, saved 5 to open on Sunday and 5 more for Monday. The ones I opened on Sunday:
An Ugly Doll, a Troll, a Pint Size Heroes (Belle), a How to Train your Dragon and a Gremlins.
I had brunch with my parents to celebrate my birthday. We went to a brunch, my parents had the buffet, which just had a bunch of items that I felt I could have at home: scrambled eggs, French toast, omelets. I figure if you're going out to eat, you should get something you can't have at home.
So, I got pecan French toast:
The syrup was so good, I really wanted to just lick it off the plate.
Afterwards we headed to Walmart to get a microwave, but because we didn't know what was the best, I have to research and then tell my parents which one I want.
I splurged on a bunch of blind bags for my birthday:
Surprise toy box ($5), owl wood piece ($0.50), Lost Kitties ($3), taco keychain ($2), Grumblies ($4) Cutetitos ($10), Pikmi Pops ($5).
I spent about $42, I've decided to not buy anymore blind bags unless they are $2 or less, preferably only $1. I figure I've bought a couple blind bags every time I've gone shopping and if they are $3 each, that's quite a bit of money. I need to focus on garage sales and not big box stores. I also figure that I've been spending the money I've been saving from not buying crafting supplies on blind bags. So much for saving money.
I made my cheesecake:
It's a bit brown, but I couldn't figure out if it was done. Everything said the middle should jiggle, but not the sides. Everytime I shook it, the whole thing jiggled. I tasted the middle, it's good, plus the serving suggestion is whipped cream and hot chocolate.
The square pan was the leftover cheesecake, I had cut the recipe in half and still had quite a bit left. I wish I had a smaller pan, so it would have been thicker, it's about half an inch thick, I've just been eating it out of the pan, it's delicious.
I chose to open the surprise toy box, after googling it, I realized it wasn't that great.
 The goodies:
But I guess that's what you get for spending so little for 8 blind bags. I like the little animals and the egg full of dinosaurs. I'm not even sure what that thing is on the right side.
Monday: I chose to wear another dress to work:
Thought I'd go shopping after work, I was originally going to go Saturday after work.
Found these at a local fair trade store:
I didn't end up buying anything.
The blind bags I opened on Monday:
Pint Size Heroes (Mickey), Disney Mystery Minis Plushies (Mickey), Trolls, My Little Pony and a red Ugly Doll.
Mail was delivered late (4:45), I think it was because I knew there was a box of birthday surprises. I ended up with 10 items in the mail.
Button swap:
We were to make a card with a button on it.
Surprise:
 The notecards are really cute.
Beach tag:
Loving those puffy stickers, also there's a jellyfish.
Winner Takes All: Happy Mail
The Winner Takes all is where we comment with what we would send to the person that won. I don't usually win stuff, there wasn't a lot of people that signed up, but I'm still excited to win it.
Winner Takes All: 2 sticker sheets
Not really excited about these, but they are cute.
Winner Takes All: 5 sticker sheets:
I love the puffy elephants.
The other 4 items were birthday surprises, I'll open all my birthday surprises on my birthday.

Week of July 16

Sunday: I didn't have to work, so I kinda just didn't do anything all day. I did have to make a sewing pocket letter:
The back has a bunch of sewing goodies.
I also had to make my screw it and do it challenge, I may have been on my way to bed when I remembered:
Monday: I had to go to Target to return a few items and some more pocket pages and Walmart for more double stick tape and Dollar Tree for a loofah.
I found these cute stickers at Dollar Tree
I felt I could make them, so I just took a picture.
Here's what I bought:
I was hungry, so I picked up the veggie straws, they were not flavored enough for me, so I took them to work. I needed the Coke for work, I totally broke my loofah in the shower on Sunday, it just all fell apart. I love this notebook, I saw it in someone else's haul and had to pick it up when I saw it.
Here's what I got at Walmart:
frogs for the bathtub, double stick tape.
I picked up the frogs to put on the bottom of my tub, it's very easy to slip on my bathtub (now that I have a regular sized bathtub, I'm still getting used to it). I needed double stick tape.
Here's what I picked up at Target:
pocket pages, minion pens.
I was very happy to have stuck to what I needed at Walmart, Dollar Tree and somewhat at Target. I just didn't find anything else I really wanted to spend my money on, plus I only spent cash I had, and didn't take anything out of my checking account.
And here I went a little crazy at Target:
I was in the mood for chocolate, and Target is the place to go for good chocolate, plus I had cartwheel savings for the Godiva, the Milka Oreo bars and the Nature Valley granola things. The Heath were on clearance, the Ice drinks were on sale, I just picked up the Lindt because I was hungry. I have a Target gift card from my birthday, so I kinda went a little crazy.
I did my Screw It and Do It Challenge before work:
And had a very trying night at work, so was excited to come home to four swap packages.
Journaling cards:
3x4s
Red, White and blue pocket letter (this was a surprise because my partner flaked on me):
Loaded mini envelope:
And some random happy mail:
Tuesday: I had to open at the library, but I had a much better day.
I finished my mini loaded envelopes:
and the second one:
I also finished a mermaid tag:
and my Screw It and Do It Challenge:
Wednesday: I had to open again, went to mail all the swaps I finished, and went grocery shopping. I finally spent the rest of my cash at the post office, and may have splurged a little on food. I get tired of the cheap, boring meals after awhile. I really wanted to buy ice cream, and though I live 2 blocks from the grocery store, we're in a heat advisory and have had wicked high levels of humidity, so I was afraid it would be soup by the time I got home.
I watched a movie and caught up on my YouTube stuff. I got a package back in the mail due to a miscommunication on the zipcode, I mailed it on the 5th and it just got back to me today, which made me a bit upset, so I went to create some art.
An August calendar tag
And my Screw It and Do It challenge:
Thursday:
I got up and made my Screw It and Do It challenge:
I went to the post office to re-mail that package, turned out the zipcode was wrong, a miscommunication on people's parts. I went to Hobby Lobby looking for a couple new paper pads while they were having a 50% off sale on The Paperstudio papers and stickers. Sadly, mine didn't have the new paper pads, an employee told me they'd have them out in a couple weeks. I was so annoyed about that, that I put everything back and didn't buy anything. I almost went to JoAnn's, but decided not to buy anything.
I got my Pink and black envelope flip book in the mail:
We had a drunk guy at the library that night and rain.
Friday: I didn't do much before having to go in to work.
I did get my last Screw It and Do It Challenge done:
And basically just went to work.
HyVee is starting to make donuts from scratch, so they gave us a few boxes of them to enjoy, I think they are much better.
I got a button swap in the mail:
I love all the printed wooden ones, I'll probably end up hoarding them.
Saturday: I got up to go to a garage sale and spent a grand total of 50 cents, I did find these:
I was tempted to buy one, cause they're so cool, but I didn't need it, and it would just sit around collecting dust until I got rid of it.
I walked by what I thought would be an estate sale on my way home, but there was no sign, so I didn't look.
I did get some ice cream, though.
We've been under a heat advisory since Wednesday, so I'll probably just not do much today, I should work on a couple art projects.

A little relaxation

Today was my first day off in a little over a month. I originally planned to just sit at home and watch movies all day, but since all my jobs are part-time, I usually do that when I get off work. Instead, I went shopping with my mother and then we went to Reiman Gardens to see a new exhibit and the Butterfly House. We also had to stop off at the gift shop. I wasn't planning on buying anything, then I saw a couple grab bags, that guaranteed to have over $80 in merchandise, who could resist those? Obviously, not me. Here's what was in them:
A giant plastic flower, a box of tags/stickers, a dog pencil, a ladybug ornament, a couple bracelets, a ant plant hanger, some lip gloss, a bird globe, a pair of earrings and a bug on a spring.

And another bug on a spring, a spider, a bug magnet, bugs in a jar, a cute keychain, some more lip gloss, a stick pin, a snowman, an orange cat, some bug goo, and a pineapple key chain.

I must apologize for not posting lately. I'm mostly online on my Kindle Fire, and though it's really nice, when I'm trying to type things, it has this auto correct where it tries to guess what I'm typing, and if I'm not paying attention, when I hit the "space", it's actually the insert button, and sometimes puts it's own words in. I also can't store pictures on it, so I'm not able to do posts with pictures. I do hope to be shopping or have some cool pictures to share with you all soon.

Thanks for hanging around.

New stuff

I don't have any new pictures, because I didn't go garage saleing this weekend, but these pictures are some interesting things I bought on Etsy this weekend. I do have other things to share with you, so please enjoy the pictures as well.
I don't have anything exciting/interesting going on in my life, I've actually noticed I'm more tired and irritable lately, I don't know exactly why. I have been working more at work, more than 20 hours, sometimes close to 30, which I know is not a ton, but more than I'm used to working constantly.
A very cool heart necklace

The assistant director at the library told me the other day, that she can see me making a career at the library. She says she doesn't say this very often, so it means a ton, and it's totally helping me when I have troubles with my lead workers.
This is the first time I've told anyone, since talking to her last Tuesday. I feel I really can't tell my co-workers, as I felt they might not be too happy hearing about it. I'm not really interested in telling my parents, because they will push me to have more hours (even though I'm past the limit right now), and berate me about other stuff.

Cute peacock earrings.

Like I said I've been more irritable and crankly lately. When I've been buying stuff it's totally been for me. I like that I'm not really spending money on someone else (meaning I like not having a boyfriend and spending money on him). The past few purchases I've made, I smile every time I look at them, and that makes a huge difference. I've been buying junky food for me, maybe not the best choice, but I enjoy and I think that matters a ton.

A cute blue necklace.

I'm dressing up for Halloween, and have bought myself a cute costume. I'm actually working on Halloween, so I figured, why not. I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years, so I'm really giddy about that. Plus, most of the Monday night crew at the library is going to dress up, so I think it will be really cool.

And an alien pocketwatch.

I honestly keep wishing/hoping that something exciting comes along, or happens to me. But, since I don't know exactly what that means, I think I'll be waiting awhile.

I've been chatting to a few guys online through the OKCupid website. I find one of them particularly weird/strange. We were chatting on Yahoo messenger, and then through the emails on the site, and he gives me his phone number and then pretty much ignores me. I find it kinda ironic because he was telling me how my ex was a dick, and then he pretty much says, 'Unless you call/text me, I'm not gonna chat with you anymore.' Now who's being a dick? I'm not ready to give out my phone number to anyone, and I'm certainly not going to give it to someone being an ass.

I went to my cousin's baby shower yesterday. It was fun to listen to the stories from my other cousins and aunts about babies and them growing up, but I'm not at all interested in having one. I thought it was particularly amusing, how bored my mother was when we were chatting.

That's all that's been happening lately. If I'm not working, I'm either relaxing (off my feet), or working on my art projects with upcoming deadlines. Check out my post about them here. I am a little bummed today, because I heard I didn't win a giveaway, that I really wanted, but I'm used to that, I rarely win anything.

What's been going on in your lives?

My purchases.

I didn't plan to spend so much money, but since I hadn't gotten the job/promotion I applied for at the library, I did decide I was spending money on myself and I wasn't going to worry about it.
Here are the two notecards I bought at the art gallery, the bag of button , for a closer look at them, check out my art blog, the egg fabric
Here are the two linen pieces I found and the flower frog
Here's the two shirts I got at the consignment store. I had found quite a few cute shirts, but these two fit the best
And two Okoboji shirts, because you have to buy some of those while you're there
Now, you can't see the bag of candy I bought at the sugar shack, because that's gone.
I think I bought some great things, I just wish the weekend lasted longer, or that I got to have more time up there. I felt like we pushed a lot into the weekend and it would have been nice to spread it out and relax more. But, that seems to be the norm when I go up there lately. When I went with my ex three or four years ago, we had to be back by Tuesday afternoon, last year I had to be back by Monday afternoon and this year by Tuesday night.
