Destashing

January 8: read Librarian Tales, it was kinda dry. There were some parts that I wish my mother would read, about how much we use our brains working at a library. I'm fairly certain she thinks we just read all day, no matter how much I tell her how many things I do. Found 3 things in the mail.
Happy Mail:
The stickers are cute, I really like the giraffe postcard.
Purple washi:
This was delivered postage due. This is partly why the post office is losing money. You can't send rolls of washi on one stamp, the envelope is not less than 1/4 inch thick and it's not uniformly thick. Frustrating. In my new place I shouldn't have this problem, apparently we get all the new people on our route, an experienced mail person would know not to deliver postage due. I'm hoping to catch the mail person after I move and to let them know I'll probably get postage due stuff and to just leave the pink slip.
An item with a snowman on it:
It has a snowman on the front of it as well. I had to hunt this one down, there was no note and the person who sent it made it hard to figure out who they were. I'm a bit disappointed in it. I like the folder, but I'll be passing on the facemask and air freshener.
I put together another washi swap:
I've been trying to sort each day and get rid of stuff on a free site on Facebook. Got rid of some Chucky/Freddie stuff
My housemate gave me the dolls and I got excited when I saw the capsules at Walmart on clearance, even though I'm not a Chucky fan.
I also made a pocket letter:
I had no great intentions to make it a new year one, but it just kinda worked out that way.
Sent a surprise:
I had 3 of these sticky note sets by now, I really only need one.
And a wish for stickers:
I also put together a rainbow swap:

One of my mail groups is requiring everything be purchased online this month. I can't afford that, so I'm bowing out for the month. I did ask on the personal swap page if anyone wanted to swap colored happy mail. I was thinking of like green happy mail with one person and red happy mail with another. The person who responded was thinking of more like a swap, so I went with it. We decided on red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and white or black. I came up with Red: a strawberry ornament from a local artist, Orange: die cuts, Yellow: Minion washi, Green: frog buttons, Blue: watch I got for a favorite color tag, Purple: sticky notes, Pink: crafting tools from a swap and some washi, and Black: bracelet from a local gifts store. I figure my partner will mostly send Dollar Tree stuff as well, but all the above is stuff I've mostly gotten in swaps that I don't really want, so it's all good. That was part of the reason I bowed out this month, I have so much stuff at home because I buy for the group, that I'm not going to spend more money.
January 9: I put together a wish for sloth washi:
A wish for St. Patrick's stickers:
I had to work that afternoon. I was thinking of going to Hobby Lobby in the morning for some tape, but Valentine's stuff wasn't on sale, and I knew I'd get sucked into that.
I got a wish for something sloth:
This person either smokes, or lives with a smoker, as everything they send me reeks of cigarette smoke and I can't use anything.
A Dollar Tree tag:
These are so cute!
Work was ok, steady at some times and slow at others.
January 10: Found a ton of sticky notes and notebooks to get rid of:
This is only half of them. Those went really quickly. Someone said if I find more, I laughed, I have tons more.
Also found this gem:
Something I WILL NOT be getting rid of. I grew up on this record, got the book and CD when it appeared and the music is on my mp3 player. I don't have a record player, but it's nostalgic.
Put together a sticker book tag:
I'll be paying for extra weight on this one.
I realized if I ever went back to school, I could have a shabby chic theme for school supplies:
These are all from different swaps. I just need a folder and pens/pencils to complete the set.
Made a sloth pocket letter:
Not too exciting, but in this group, this is about what I get back. I'm learning to be less elaborate for this group. I can mail this on one stamp.
A wish for Please Deliver To labels:
And another one:
These are the labels I got the smell strongly of cigarette smoke. I have a very sensitive nose, I always try to pass things on cause I feel bad just throwing them away.
January 11: Got rid of some more stuff, crafting magazines:
Embroidery kits:
A few more crafting kits:
And a box of randomness:
I've gotten rid of a bit of stuff, but I can't really tell. I need to weed out books. I can't donate them to the library right now, so I'm hoping they'll go on this free site. I really like most of my books, though. I went shopping with a friend and found this blast from the past:
When I was a kid, Dunkaroos were actually cookies that you dunked in frosting. They came in little individual packs for lunchboxes.
I also found a giant dragon:
For $30.
Walmart:
I was excited to find the boots, I get these every year, when I was looking in September, I didn't find them, so I'm excited to see they still exist. I needed pain killer, scissors, tape, and the envelopes. I'll use the composition book for my journal.
stationery kit, marshmallows, squishies and earrings. I'm fairly certain this stationery kit is in my Amazon wishlist. I picked up the earrings to rip apart and use for crafting, the rest is for my Valentine's gift.
We went to Target next:
More marshmallows, vitamins, Mtn Dew, nightlight, Valentine's, and gift bags. The marshmallows are for my Valentine's gift. I needed the vitamins. My new apartment has a step up to go into the bathroom, I figured I should pick up a nightlight so I don't trip at night. The gift bags are for a swap. The valentine's have tiny boombox erasers, I couldn't pass them up.
We went for burgers for lunch, that was really good. And then off to Dollar Tree:
more envelopes, food, stickers, food storage container, rubber duck. The duck is for my Valentine's gift.
Valentine's, stickers, lunch notes, canvas, loofah. The stuffed animals are for my Valentine's gift. The lunch notes I plan to use in my journal, they are uplifting thoughts. At Walmart they have puffy Catus stickers, these are layered chipboard. I needed the loofah. I picked up the canvas is for future swaps.
Last stop was Hobby Lobby:
monsters, tape, stickers, gnome picks. I needed the tape (I'm not excited that it went up from $10 to $13, I did use a 40% off coupon).
I picked up the monsters, felt Valentine's and the Valentine's with erasers for Valentine's gift bags. Looking at everything, I will use most of it, I have a plan for most of it except the stickers. I think that's what usually happens, though it all usually gets used. This was supposed to be more of a stuff I need shopping trip.
I found some cute avocado stickers when I got home:
I'm trying to sort and get rid of stuff every day, but it's very tiring. I move in July and am very excited.
