Another unexciting week

Saturday: Had to work, was going to go to a sale in the morning, but when I went back to look at the ad, it sounded like a lot of larger items, and I just didn't feel like it.

Work was ok, I expected it to be busier due to the fact that summer has started.
Sunday: I had to work again. It started off interesting, our Automated Handling System wasn't sorting correctly, and seemed to have been doing it since maybe later on Saturday night. It took us awhile to get things checked in and taken care of. Again, not so busy. I went to Cold Stone Creamery with a co-worker afterwards. That was good, I had chocolate ice cream with peanut butter in it.
Monday: was ok. Nothing too exciting happened.
Received my first Summer Solstice Smiles item:

 In one of my groups (not a mail one), there was a sign up to send out mail to 9 other people, to give them something to smile about. Of course I signed up. I had just gotten a bunch of cards at a garage sale, so I just picked some of those and sent them out. I couldn't send just the cards, so I included some washi samples as well, used up about 4 rolls. I also may have gone a bit overboard with stickers on envelopes. I was sorting out my stickers and wanted to use some.
Tuesday: put together a few things.
Llama tag and a wish of gel pens:

 I wanted to send this stationery set for the llama tag, but I knew it would be very close to a package, when that happens I like to put something else in it to make sure we all know it's a parcel. I don't want people to have to pay postage. I made sure to grant a wish for this person and went with a wish of gel pens.

 I had woken up with a headache and it just got worse throughout the day, so I called in sick to work and went to bed early.
Wednesday: put together a flat item tag:

 And headed off to work.

 There was a lot of random alphabets in it. This was a wish granted from April, so she was a bit late, but I don't track wishes as much.
I have too many books checked out and I've been in a rut of just renewing them, so I'm trying to actually read them. I bit the bullet and suspended all my active holds on books so I wouldn't be accruing more, now let's see if I can actually read the other books.
Thursday: spent the day trying to read books.
Received a wish of happy mail:

 Unfortunately nothing in it makes me happy. I have decided to stop doing wishes again. I mainly started doing them to get some surprises for my birthday, I knew I wouldn't have much to open on my birthday (and this was before I found out about my parents plans).
I had planned to go shopping, but didn't get to it in the morning and didn't feel like it in the afternoon. I was checking out garage sales and noticed there weren't many and certainly no close ones, so decided to go on Friday.
Friday: of course I got lost in youtube, but made myself go out about 10:30 and then it was sorta chilly out, and I got stopped by a train and then it started sprinkling.
First stop was Dollar Tree, I needed some envelopes.

I told myself not to go down the sticker aisle, but I do it anyway. There weren't a lot of new ones, I liked the chalkboard looking ones and these few planner stickers (I already used one of them). I picked up the monkey for a monkey tag. I had stickers I was going to send, but then I saw this in the store and knew I had to send it. The pineapple is decor for my desk at work. I'll need a new shower pouf next month and I just liked the pens.

 There's my envelopes (which means I'll find the other ones now), totally needed the rest. I wanted to buy some of the pastries in their snack section, even though I know they are dry, but I also was thinking about having lunch.
I was originally going to go to Perkins for lunch, but decided I wasn't quite hungry at that time, so since I was going to a store that was further south, I went to a local place and got a chocolate shake and some cheese curds:

 It was pretty good, lots of kids and would have been more fun if I was with friends.
Next up was Books a Million, I don't make it there very often, and I only go for the other stuff, not books.

I've been having way too much fun with blind bags. I bought these for my birthday. I wonder if there's a discount site for blind bags.

I was considering buying a niffler keychain, but went with the narwhal instead, partly because it was half as much.

I was standing in line listening to the salesperson talk to the person in front of me and she's telling her about this great rewards program they have about saving x amount on books (she had a stack of books) and how you could give it to relatives and anyone you wanted and it was only $35. I was thinking, here's an even greater deal, get a library card where everything is free. Sure you don't get to keep the books, but we have a great selection.

I stopped at Verizon on the way to my next stop. My phone is really old and I'll need to get a new one, and since the world tells me prices will be going up soon, I was hoping to get one. Unfortunately I'm on a family plan and the people to verify that are on vacation. So, I got some ideas and I'll probably ask some advice on facebook.

Next stop was Walmart: I had to take something back. After doing the return, I remembered I needed flip flops and checked out the clearance section while I was there.

 Flip flops ($10), cards ($0.75 each). I was going to look at clearanced clothing and food, but I just wasn't into it. Most of the reason I go shopping around lunch time is because I can't think of food otherwise, I guess in this instance it helped me save money.
Last stop was Target: I needed to pick up some red vines for a swap and I needed toothbrush heads.

I always check out the clearance sections every where I go, this little bee was originally $8, no way would I pay that. I figured, I could cut off the ugly strap and use it as a coin purse. Why do toothbrush heads have to be so expensive? I had used cash everywhere else, but had to use my card here.
Made 10,000 steps on my way home and found a bunch of mail when I got there.

 Very cute, rather large, more of a small purse size. Also, smells kinda funny. I'd love to have a strap on this one.

 I am not a Harry Potter fan, but after talking myself out of the niffler keychain today, I was very excited to get this in the mail. Also, the person sending it to me drew it.

It was a pretty good day, I just wish I had more friends to hang out with. I wish I could have gone to Tuesday morning with friends.

I received an initials tag in the mail:

 This is the third time I've done this tag, and I haven't been impressed any time by what I was sent. I also loved how this one was sent as media mail, it was media mail until you added the gum. I love how people are always complaining about the prices for mailing something, maybe part of the reason is because you're misusing the system.
Spring note cards:

 These were post marked May 31, they were supposed to be mailed May 20th. I'm not really sure what makes them spring as opposed to something else.
I wore a dress to work because it was 82 degrees when I left. My plan was to wear something else, but that was too warm to wear something longer:

 A lot of my co-workers commented on how cute this dress is. I was a little self-conscious as I don't have a lot of things that hit me at the knee. I might have to hunt out some more. I wish I had more dresses that were shorter.
Wednesday: was ok, until someone told me something that almost made me cry at work and since I had the next two days off I let it build up in my mind.
Thursday: I ignored the world and watched Bones. I received a post card from a friend in the mail:

 Friday: I had some garage sales I wanted to go to. Again, they were not very close. The first sale was a bust. I did find a bag of stickers and crafting supplies, but I wasn't going to spend $5 for it.

The second sale was better:

 Found the tin, dragon, stickers and s&p shakers, paid $1.25 for everything.  I didn't realized the squirrels were s&p shakers until I got home, I just thought they were cute. The owl mug is from the last sale I went to, picked it up for $1.
I went to 5 sales, most of them didn't have much I wanted. One of them had a lot of overpriced kids stuff, I also thought it was rude of the three people hosting the sale to ignore me and just keep going with their conversation. They seemed bothered when I said hello, so I didn't see the point of buying anything. I had gone a bit later to hit a couple sales that started at 1 and 2, the sale that started at 2 said lots of fabric, but the pictures showed other stuff too.
I ended up walking 4 miles and spending $2.25 total. I'd really like some closer sales next week. I have a 4-day weekend, I'd love to get away, but I'm pretty sure it won't happen.
I got home, guzzled some water and took a shower. I should have taken a nap because I was exhausted, but I didn't.
I did get a package with granted wish of something mason jar and sticker flakes.

 Someone else had sent me these same mason jar stickers, so even though I love them, I might pass them on to someone else.

I had plans with a friend to go to our local art walk, but things came up and she couldn't go. I went by myself, but it just wasn't as much fun by myself.
I'm now tired and plan to stay off my feet until I have to go to work tomorrow afternoon. I was planning on hitting another sale tomorrow, but I got some more blisters on my feet from today's walk.

Sunday was very unproductive. I did get my laundry done and a few things ready to send out.

 I signed up for a Red, White, and Blue swap and was excited to do it until I realized I had to have things that were patrioti or all red white and blue, not red items, white items and blue items.
I might see if anyone wants to swap for these instead of doing the other swap.

 Monday: was busy, you can definitely tell it's summer. The library was busy once we started having the summer lunch program. I headed off to our North Walmart to see if they had anything exciting. I found a few things:

Dragon eggs ($6 each), Kit Kat ($2), Ugly Dolls blind bags ($3 each), pocket letter sleeves ($5), Trolls blind bags ($2 each), Ibuprofen ($4)

The dragon eggs are from How to Train your Dragon, normally I wouldn't spend $6 on a blind bag, but I really wanted them. I bought the Kit Kat cause it was a big one instead of a bunch of tiny ones. I needed the pocket letter sleeves, I couldn't find them last week at the south Walmart or Target last week. Totally bought more of the Ugly Dolls blind bags, I'm hoping for the octopussy looking thing. I also picked up some Trolls blind bags, just cause they were cute. The tag says they were originally $6, no way would I pay that much for something so little. I opened one of the Trolls blind bags:

I didn't read the tag that says they have two figures in it. I think they are wicked cute, plus the 'pod' is too. When I went to pay there was an issue with the credit card machine, it kept saying waiting on customer, but on my side it said authorizing don't remove card. So, the cashier comes around to my side, runs through her stuff again, and then bypasses the pin entry point and goes for signature, or whatever. Then she says to me, is that what you wanted? It probably timed out on you before. It was a bit annoying, but I just let it go. I was actually in a good mood and decided not to ruin it.

I headed over to the mall and TJ Maxx, I found a pair of octopus socks for $2 and some sequin appliques for 70 cents, but I couldn't justify charging that little on my debit card.

I headed over to Jimmy John's for my lunch, realized the bus was just leaving and chose to just wait until the next one, I was really looking forward to that sandwich.

I headed to Walgreen's to kill some time:

 Hedgehog ($5), white Oreo bars($1 each), white Twix ($1), peanut butter Twix ($1), snail ($2) Minion blind bag ($3), chocolate covered cashews ($3) and a Cherry Coke ($2).
I shouldn't have picked up the snail or the cashews, but oh well.
I found out the bus was going to be there sooner than the schedule said it was, so got back to the library earlier than I expected. I put the dragon eggs, the other two Trolls blind bags, the Ugly Dolls blind bags, and the minion blind bag in my birthday bag.
Found some mail when I got home. A birthday surprise:

 And a postage due item slip. It was supposed to be for a birthday surprise. I don't pay postage and I certainly won't pay on something that's supposed to be a surprise for my birthday. It had enough due that I'm sure they sent it as a letter and it's actually a parcel.

Very frustrating.

Happy June

Why is it that I have great intentions for the next day the night before? I was going to get up and go on a walk. And then I got up and didn't go on a walk, and then it was too late to go on a walk. I had to be at work at 1:15. The mail was early enough to pick it up on my way in to work.

 It was from wish, and while I know you can't add a note, I know you can add your name next to the recipient's name on the mailing label. I've decided it's too much work to track down who's sending things to me. I had posted in my groups asking about this and a packet of sticker flakes I got on Tuesday and nobody has claimed mailing it to me.

I have been particularly grumpy lately. Today, I got up and was so excited to go to garage sales, only to see there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms before 10AM. I waited until 9 when it got lighter out, I looked at the radar and it looked like the giant rain blobs were going to miss us, so I started out on my trek. There weren't any really close, but I had 4 sales on my list, the first was about a mile and a half away and didn't actually have anything I wanted to buy. There ended up being a cluster of three right next to each other, I found this minion toy at the last one:

 When I asked how much, they said 10 cents, but i only had a dollar and they didn't have that much change, so I said a quarter was fine. The next one was about another mile and a half away. There were a few things I was interested in, but nothing was priced. I don't like those kind of sales. I still go by the saying if you have to ask it's too much. So, I headed to the next one, which was only about a half mile away. This was more of an estate/tag sale run by a company, I like going to these, but nothing is ever under $1, and some things I feel are a bit too much. I spent $13 here:

The reindeer globe was $2, the large minion, keychain, small minion, crab magnet and owl jar were all $1 each. And Ziggy was $2, not marked. I had picked up a few things and then realized there was a basement, which had a ton of cool things, but some I didn't want to carry home and some I just didn't want to pay prices for.

 I basically got it for the bunch of trim in the top right corner, I didn't want to spend $4 for the whole bunch, but I really wanted that trim. The trim in the middle and left top are kinda cute, as well.

 I really like this piece at the bottom.

I'm not sure what I'll do with the pieces I don't like. I guess I could always donate them to Goodwill. The last sale was about a half mile away and I didn't find anything to buy. I hit 10,000 steps shortly after that sale, which was nice but I didn't want to walk the two miles home. I was going to wait for the bus, but it would have been a half hour wait, I knew I could get home before then.
I'm not exactly sure how much I walked, my fitbit says 5.95 miles (13,434 steps, I learned the other day it's actually measuring how much your arm moves, and when i have a bag of stuff my arm doesn't move much), the mapmyrun website says 5.64 miles (of course that doesn't take into effect the walking around at the sales) and my mp3 player says 6 miles, which I think is more accurate. I feel I'm allowed to be lazy for the rest of the day.
I was waiting until I got my mail to post this. I wish my mail could be delivered the same time every day, that would make life easier. Today, I picked it up at about 3:30, it wasn't there when I got home earlier about noon.

I was going to put together some tags, but wasn't very inspired. I did put together a wish for junk journal items:

I was checking facebook and noticed I had a message request. Someone was asking if I received something they had mailed me at the beginning of May. I did, they even liked and commented on the post. And I'm back to being grumpy. Maybe I need to limit my facebook time, I know it won't happen. I'm trying to decide how many June swaps I want to join in my mailing groups. I want to do a secret sister swap (basically you send favorites to someone, but don't tell them who you are), it's always a hit or miss in my groups, it seems. One of them was pretty good, but then they did a color swap the next time around and that was a miss. So, I'm not sure.
